Water/StainProofing Exotics

Unfortunately, those are just dye imperfections. The more exotics you buy, the more you'll see it. They didn't used to come that way but they are producing so many now that it's impossible to get an even dye when you use vegetable dye, which is what CL uses, on every shoe.

My newest ADs are missing spots all together and have dark spots in some areas.

Unfortunately, I can't compare my Jennys because I sold them already except the PP ones and they don't have much dye to them. But, I can take pics tomorrow and show you how bad the dye job is on my RB ADs. It just comes with the territory. Yours don't look bad at all.

I see. Wow. I guess the mass production really does affect the quality. My ADs are perfect though so I guess it just depends on the pair that gets sent to you. I really love the Jennys. Thank you for your explanation Nat. I really really appreciate it. I would like to see the pictures of your RB ADs when you get a chance (if you don't mind). Just so I can see if it is the exact same issue on both:smile1: :hugs:

A little off topic(quick question)Where did you order purple python VPs?

Miami has them. Actually several places have them. They come in the purple and fuxia. It's called Indio Purple Python. I had them in the Lady Peep Sling version. I'm attaching a picture of both for you.

If it's a different one, then the only other one that's out is the left over purple one that Saks had that looked like an acid wash. Hope this helps.

nat, this thread makes me feel MUCH more confident about ordering exotics :graucho:. Thank you so very much!

cts this thread made me feel better about wearing them out after treatment. Nat thank you again for taking the time to explain all of this. Little did I know when I got my Bianca that it would be a super special pair and your thread has really helped me feel better about having them treated and teaching me how to keep them clean. I typically shy away from exotics for that reason but now I will be more confident thanks to you :)

Oh it's those ones! I thought there were actual solid purple python VPs! Thank you for clearing that up Nat:D

I ordered Meltonian! I can't wait to spray my ADs and Jennys! I just wanted to make sure I get this correctly: I apply one coat (not two like the bottle says), and then let it dry and repeat the one coat correct?
Also, I read that you said not to spray the Meltonian on dirty shoes and since mine kind of have these stains that look like glue because they are sticky stains and it is not in the actual skin, I should not use the Dyo reptile cleaner like you suggested to Jenay right?

Ok. I am totally done harassing you with these questions...I swear:smooch: lol

You are awesome to be helping us all with this! You should win some kind of prize on TPF for most valuable member or something LOL :idea:Hey that is a good idea...every month we have a MVM with a feature on the member! hahahahaha

Nat - I saw your brief post in another thread about caring for patent shoes. While I know its not an exotic I would still love to hear your care tips, if you don't mind :smile1:

Have any UK ladies had any luck sourcing Meltonian? It seems only to be available in the U.S :shrugs:

I have just gotten a new pair of powder pink rosella flats which are in desperate need of protection!

Hi kv-caring for patents is important. Especially since CL uses the same high quality patent that Vivier uses, which is believed to be the of the best in the world. The perfect combination of lacquer and elastin.

I simply rub mine, when I see them getting dull, with a soft cloth and vaseline. Don't slather it on, just massage it and wipe it off good. You'll see it keep it's sheen and it will keep them from scuffing so easily.

Should you get a scuff, now brace yourself, use a tiny bit of nail polish remover on a q-tip and gently rub the scuff off. As soon as you get it off, immediately get the nail polish remover off of the shoe and rub the area with vaseline, like you were conditioning it, and then rub it off and you'll see the once dull area (the nail polish remover reacts with the lacquer and will dull the shine) come right back to life.

Hope that helps.
