I cannot appeal it.......PP told me it is not an option because the bag has been "destroyed" by the buyer........right.

Yes, I am going to watch for it on Ebay and I can bet she is not going to use the same ID as she did to purchase it...she has been too slick for that kind of dumb move. Or, she will keep it OR she will consign it. I will be looking into ALL avenues.

It is possible that she could have someone else sell the bag

for her... she could also give it to a resale shop in her

area or sell it to someone privately...and she probably won't do

it right away... she'll probably wait...

It is funny that you all mention her selling it.
I asked that very question to Paypal if I should see MY bag with MY craftsman stamp on it on Ebay.

Paypal said the case is closed and it would have nothing to do with them if I saw it on Ebay. They told me I would have to pursue it legally with my attorney.

Wow......so now they are OK with basically stolen merchandise on their site.

I mean really......NOTHING would surprise me at this point.......nothing.

Check to see if she uses Facebook, seems people put all sorts of pictures on there and she may just want to show off her new bag.

Don't give up.

explore anything and everything... from contacting as many resellers that would handle high end merchandise to looking for it on craig's list, facebook, etc... you might be surprised where it would turn up...and it certainly could turn up on ebay with someone she knows reselling it for her...

You can and should file a report with the Mounties in Canada -- I don't know who told you otherwise. Also, you do not need an attorney in small claims court - you can represent yourself as it's not formal. You would need to file the paperwork and you may want to pay an attorney in the city & province where your scammer lives to file those papers for you so you don't have to fly up there twice but it won't cost you more than $300-500 for that type of work. (Although if I was in your shoes and I was dealing with a $9k loss, it would be worth it to me to have professional representation throughout the case. That said, as long as you can prove you actually sent an authentic bag -- did you photograph/record yourself sending it? Did a third party watch you do it? -- you should be able to get either the bag or what you'd paid for it given it's within the cut-off sum of the small claims court you file in.) Best of luck to you, OP!

OMG...I'm seeing RED! What a conniving b**ch! How anyone could do that is beyond me. Seriously, if you want my help, I am here for you! I could file, I am so central, I can access any court building. Plus, I work at a major construction company here and I am in charge of collections. I have had to initiate small claims in every city in and around the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley and I'm familiar with how to do it. I think in any event, it will scare her/him sufficiently.

Oh and another thought...what's the deal with covering and honoring someone with 0 feedback? Shouldn't you have an established track record before pp can protect you? Note to self: Do not sell to anyone with 0 feedback.

Paypal should have made her send the bag back at minimum. No way should she be allowed to get her $ and keep the bag. This is only going to encourage others to lie.

OP I am just sick for you. I can't believe how horrible Paypal is being.

If this happened to me, I think I'd fly myself up to Wherever, Canada and snatch the bag out of her grasping, greedy, theiving, scammy hands, and wait for the RCMP to show up. Let her try to explain her possession of a supposed destroyed bag.

SO sorry this happened to you.

This is why you do not do off ebay transactions. There is no "description" of the item since it is not an ebay or other Internet website transaction.

How did she pay? Was it for merchandise or what?

I am sorry you got scammed.

OP sorry this happened to you ! Just horrible.

This has me wondering if Paypal is scamming with international buyers to get money.

I would not be surprised if Paypal gets investigated and busted for scamming US sellers.

She's a desperate theif and will get her KARMA what goes around comes around !

Also, the people at Paypal will get their KAMRA too.

You can and should file a report with the Mounties in Canada QUOTE]

This & contact the CA attorney general regarding Paypal. Paypal is in violation of consumer protection laws.

Very sorry this happened to you.
How did she find out you were selling this bag?
Now I see you had it listed on Ebay but sold it off ebay. Since PP is owned by Ebay, are they punishing you for an off ebay transaction?

No, I packed up the bag myself and did not video tape myself doing it........I would never do that. Given that now I have been burned, Paypal would not have cared anyways even if I sent them the video.

Hence, I will no longer accept Paypal because I will not resort to video-taping myself packaging something up. I already spent $150 extra to have it independently authenticated when Paypal never even asked me for ANYTHING.

That is just it........they never ASKED me for anything, I willingly gave it to them. They only REQUIRED the BUYER to submit paperwork.

I know I will never, ever get my bag back so my hope is that I can sue Paypal. I am sure that my bag is either:
1. Be happily used by this stupid cow, or
2. Already flown across the world to some random reseller
