good point. we could :ninja: for the bag.

It would be very helpful to have a description of the bag (leather, colour, year, craftsman's stamp no., etc.) and the Ebay buyer's name in the event that it turns up for resale there and ends up on the Hermes authentication thread. Seeing that might prove useful to you, Kristie.

Also, since this happened through the postal system of two countries, you may also want to consider filing postal fraud charges. I would also definitely contact the police and/or RCMP in the city where this person resides.

The original link for the auction is expired. It was an auction that was a BIN or BO and the bag did not sell for a couple of go arounds. I decided to not relist it and then relist after some time passed. Prior to relisting, the scamming buyer contacted me about the bag because it had been on her watch list and she said she was still interested......so it went from there....... Trust me, if it is out there I will find it. I truly don't think she is dumb enough to sell it herself on eBay or give it to a major reseller to consign. She clearly knew how to work the PP system very efficiently; therefore, it is my belief she is keeping it. I think she wanted an H bag, could not afford one, and figured I would not miss my $11K loss.

All of these issues have been addressed.... This thread is just so long, a lot of it is lost in the mass of it. Thank you for your suggestions though!

I've read the entire thread from the beginning and don't recall seeing any of this information.

Just trying to be helpful, but if you feel you have the situation in hand, I wish you well. I hope you are able to recover your money. Stories like this make Ebay/Paypal too scary to want to deal with on anything other than minor items.

In a nutshell, the info you suggested posting I cannot do until advised by an attorney KWIM? I cannot do anything to jeopardize the potential of me maybe possibly getting my money back. Trust me I would LOVE for all TPFers to go completely wild vigalante on this person!! I need to have everything lined up properly. This forum is just SO public, we have to remember it is not just "us" reading it.

Haven't you already jeopardized yourself by posting this on the internet? I would think if you were following legal course you would keep things close in hand until you had a verdict/resolution.

No, I haven't. There is nothing in any of this "identifying" anyone.

I made this thread to warn others about paypal and how sellers are not protected.

It is know it all, catty comments like this that make me want to not even respond anymore.

I can completely appreciate that you don't want to jeopardize your case. If you are comfortable PMing the bag's specs and potentially the purchaser's Ebay ID to the Hermes mods or authenticators, we would be happy to keep a watch out should it come up for discussion over there.

This seems a very useful offer oP. Hope they can help you.

don 't think the buyer is going to sell this on ebay.. too risky

probably will go a different route.. and she probably will wait

if she decides to sell it...she knew the buyer exactly what to do

and feel she has done this before.. but she will be found out..

wish the seller the best with this.. she has to be very diligent

in going after pp.. they made a big mistake here and someone is

going to have to take responsibility for a bad & very costly decision...

I absolutely agree.
I truly think I have no chance trying to win anything from this buyer as the evidence for a civil hearing/lawsuit has been "destroyed."

My best shot is suing paypal for ordering destruction of an item that
1. Was proven as authentic by me, the seller.
2. Ordering the buyer to destroy property not belonging to them.
3. Taking the buyer's side in an essential "he said, she said" when I provided more than sufficient documentation of authenticity.

You know, I would have NOT put that money back into my account so that paypal could be reimbursed. Let them take me to court....I would welcome it. BUT they would not have gotten a dime from me once they ruled in buyer's favor. But thats just me.

Dont you wish you could get her on Judge Judy? We would all go and sit in that court room for ya.
