Warning- Landau Jewelry!

I've been shopping in this store for years, they have a store mostly where the airport is.. Judging from the price, u can absolutely tell that it is not real jewelry. As you said, your bf is good with buying real jewelry., how come he did not notice that what he was buying is faux. I mean come on? From that price even if you said it's $800 ( although you originally said that ur bf paid $100) you can never ever get a real good quality pearl for that price. A cultured pearl would cost you approximately around around $5000 & up. It seems to me that you are yourself, doesn't know good jewelry. I had been buying in this store for years like I said, & I have almost everything that they have , but never heard about this $800 pearl necklace that you are talking about. I even called the customer service because now I am very very curious if this necklace does exist.

A lot of people like me, who owned real good jewelries, love this store., because I can travel & have fun with it. & no matter how much the price they are charging, it's absolutely nothing compare to a real jewelry.

So my advice is either your bf lied to you about everything, or he's really cheap.. Who cares if he buys u a fake jewelry? !!

Before making a comment on a store or anything, do ur research. Educate yourself about real & fake because it seems to me that you don't even own a real jewelry!!!!

Why would you come on to a thread a year and a half after the OP posted in order to call her a liar? Much less call customer service at the fake jewelry store? And "jewleries" isn't a real word either.

I just read this and I wondered what the outcome was. I'm interested in credit card and consumer protection. But mostly, I can't believe how mean people were to OP in this whole thread.

Also, 2 of the last few critiques of her were people with 1 post each. Fishy!

I'm glad to know about this not that I've seen a Landau, but now I know...

It's not a bad thing to bring to our attention on this board.

I just finished reading through this entire thread and I feel really frustrated for the OP!!! I think schools need to stress critical reading skills more because those who've questioned the OP have misread her post. She never said she bought the necklace for $100 - OP mentioned her bf bought the necklace for $100 UNDER market value for real diamonds and pearls. She paid around $800 for it.

I agree lubird217 - no wonder she never came to update us on what happened. The people here ridiculed her away!

i agree, old thread...let it be.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I purchased a ring from them at a supposed clearance price. Paid them 1100.00 for a ring that was sold to me as GOLD. I specifically asked her what the metal was. My husband and I both kept talking with the sales lady that with the price of gold per ounce, we could hardly go wrong. She kept telling us what a great deal it was to buy gold at that price, it seemed like a good buy at a clearance price. She wrote the ticket/rcpt up that it was a 14k gold ring...got home and after wearing it a few times I noticed that it was getting severely dinged and damaged right away. I closely inspected it and found with a magnifying glass that it was marked 925 14k. which means that it is sterling silver and only coated with white gold. I can also say that the coating is very thin as it wore off immediately. NEVER did the word silver or sterling come up while I was buying it. I am going to contact the corporate office but have my doubts that I will get anywhere. PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THEM> THEY ARE SCAMMERS.

TOTAL CON STAY AWAY. I found this discussion about this Landau store because I was really pissed after buying a pair of silver earrings for $50 something dollars which turned out to be worth less than $10 at the real jewellery store, these landaus are set up in rich malls and shopping areas so they can prey on the good intentions of the unsuspecting shoppers, and they also dont let you know about the no return policy until after you signed the reciept, Im sorry for the lady's (glamgirl) BF who got ripped off with over $800, I believe it because I experienced their shdiness first hand and I will go to the attorney general

This note is to thank you for the original warning about Landau, and to confirm an additional story about another Landau site -- New York Hilton. A few years back (2005) I visited the Landau store in the lobby of the New York Hilton. I am not inexperienced in purchases, but fully believe this company has a policy of misleading and defrauding patrons. I was looking at pearls for my wife, almost all in the store at this time were priced between 800 and over $2,000. I was told these were not natural, but was led to believe they were cultured with a natural pearl surface, and were high end products consistent with the price. I purchased three necklaces for a discounted total price of near $1,800. I can assure you there were no signs saying costume jewelry, and no products selling for less than $100. Years later my wife had these evaluated by a jeweler to find they are glass beads with plastic shells, estimated value "no more than $75 per necklace". I feel that I have been defrauded, this may or may not meet legal definitions for fraud, but it certainly is a scam and the public should be protected.
Please tell your "male friend" that this product is designed to deceive, and he is far from alone. Thank you.

Uhm, I've read the whole thread but why are the last 5 comments or so all from people who have only 1 post? They only made an account to say this store is a fake. ODD

Perhaps these people obtained an account, and expended the energy to post because they felt strongly about what happened to them personally. I have to wonder about those who were not there but question the verasity of others, it is odd that these individuals would feel so stongly and become so involved. Maybe these are personal views, I wonder.

Very, very disappointed with the service and treachery displayed by Landau Jewellery. My wife and I decided to get married in Las Vegas and saw the Landau Jewellery store at the Venetian. A ring my now wife liked very much was displayed at $3596.00USD and had been discounted to $777.46USD with tax. At first I thought this was too good to be true but we trusted Galina the sales person and were assured the ring was genuine and most importantly strong. This is what we needed because being an engagement ring my wife would rarely take it off. My wife was very specific on this as she has a lot of jewellery, mostly of a very high quality and she understands what constitutes an ‘everyday’ ring.
Over the past 6 months she has been able to wear the ring less and less due to the fragility of the band. It is showing scratch, pock and indentation marks from regular use. The band was advertised as Silveradium a metal combining Silver and Palladium and Galina told us it was ‘very strong’ taking the best parts of both metals.
When I tried to speak to customer service a woman, Vanessa, who only types in CAPS responded to my email and sent out a ‘repair’ envelope. After much back and forth and intermittent discussion with Landau and the Jewellery they were going to send the ring to. ‘Repair’ turned out to be ‘cleaning’ and if the ring was to be fixed it would be at my own expense of $400USD. When asked if they would meet me half way Vanessa responded ‘I UNFORTUNATELY AM NOT ABLE TO BE OF ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE SINCE THIS IS A FINAL SALE ITEM, THE ONLY THING I AM ABLE TO PROVIDE IS THE ENVELOPE TO CUSTOMER’S. IT IS PART OF OUR POLICY AND PROCEDURES WHICH I MUST ABIDE BY AS WELL AS ALL OTHER LANDAU EMPLOYEES. ONCE A FINAL SALE ITEM IS PURCHASED IT IS THE CUSTOMER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO TAKE CARE OF ANY REPAIRS THAT MIGHT BE NEEDED. I DO APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.’
These people are pigs. Do not deal with them.
