Hi All:
Does anyone know any reliable online authentication services for vintage LV items? Would really appreciate some suggestions as I have just purchased a vintage LV Trousse Toilette 28 from an Japanese seller on eBay. The item is dated 834 but noticed the zipper pull is the LV logo zipper pull and not the eclair zipper pull that I would have expected for an item from 1983. Every other feature seems consistent with LV quality and I carefully inspected the zipper pull and Looks authentic (no air bubble on surface, sturdy and clear LV logo). I would welcome your suggestions all
Could it be that the original zipper pull broke and LV replaced it with the newer zipper pull?

It's possible - thanks for the suggestion. I would like to get it authenticated and would appreciate any suggestions on reliable online authentication services that have experience with vintage LV items (over 30 years old). I am generally confident with my oown authentication for LV items 20 years or less but not too confident with the Trousse 28 which is 37 years old. Many thanks in advance

Hi fellow LV Vintage lovers:

I have just uploaded my second video on my new YouTube channel: Petite Luxe Noir on my vintage LV petite bucket bag pm which includes a bag review, preloved buying tips plus how to remove sticky lining using product you can find in the house. I bought the bag for only $152 USD on the preloved market! Do check it out and would appreciate your support:)

My love for Vintage LV continues, with my new to me Speedy 35. She’s in great condition to be 32 years old (she was born in Jan. 1988). Although, it is not recommended (by LV) to use any creams, chemicals or conditioners on LV bags, etc. I‘ve completely ignored that when it comes to my preloved Vintage bags. I most definitely clean these items thoroughly and add a generous amount of conditioner. I love the durability of Vintage items because the Canvas is slightly thicker and the shiny, deep honey patina of the leather is beautiful IMO. :P Btw the handles were dull and dark, and there were oily looking spots on the chaps. Thanks for letting me share.

Might be a repaired item? I would say contact pro authenticator. They seem to be the most revered in the industry.

Wow! Great job with the amazing clean up of the bag - looks so gorgeous - congrats! Can you please share what products you used to clean and condition the handles and the other vachetta leather parts?

TIA
I use Kiwi Saddle Soap, Apple Leather Conditioner, Baby Wipes (alcohol and fragrance free), and Blue Magic Metal polish for the hardware. All purchased from Amazon. Btw, after I
let the conditioner dry about 20 min., I buff the leather with a soft dry cloth until it shines.

Vintage rules, lovin’ all these awesome vintage pieces. Question, does anyone know if vintage key pouches have date codes? I’m looking to buy one but seller says there’s no date because it’s from the 80’s. What year did they start the codes? It looks no different than today’s which kinda makes me wonder if it’s really vintage...
Yes, the date codes start from around that time but I wouldn't buy a vintage one without a date code (anyone can sell you anything these days) because its a lot of money and hassle for something that is not so expensive to buy with a date code. I would just search for another with a date code, which you might be able to have authenticated and put your mind at ease over its authenticity.

thank you... didn’t feel right so I passed. Search continues...
