Glad you found all the parts. The loss of hangtags and charms is a constant concern. If you search TPF you will find many posts about methods that people use to try and prevent loss including: fishing line, glue, and guard chains.

That's a big, heavy fob plus a hangtag all being supported by a flimsy ball chain, and your bag is in frequent motion, you might want to take some steps to secure the attachments.

You're right, it is kind of a heavy charm for just a ball chain, isn't it. I was *this* close to clipping it to the side D ring but I think scarves and charms are so much cuter hanging in the front, which is why I have purchased several top handle bags and tend to shy away from non top handled bags.

:amazed: I would have never thought about a method to secure them. It makes sense though, and certainly, if one has lost an expensive bag charm I can see making sure it does not happen twice. I'll do a search and see what all people have discussed.

I'd like to find chains like this, but of course in 4 inch lengths. For cheap.

Or add some connectors and small rings (without the center straight piece) like pictured in this listing:

The chain is kinda large mm in this listing, but I wonder how a chain like this (necklace style link chain) in a small mm would look with hangtags and fobs:

I use binder style rings to attach charms to my bags. Or you can use gate rings. The first two pictures are binder type rings. I found some in antiqued brass at at craft store. The gate rings come in a lot of sizes and are available on ebay. I think they are the most secure option if you don't want to permanently attach the charm to your bag. I've used thread to sew the charms onto another bag. I know I'll never want to remove them.

Aaaahhh I love your bag and charm combos. Always so well chosen and coordinated.

The binder style clips are a great idea. I'm making a list of all these ideas.

View attachment 4659486 Good morning all. So today I have my lovely Court with me. When I got out of my car at work I heard a faint splat noise. I looked down and the keychain had fallen off and hit the ground. I was bewildered for a second thinking how that could be possible and then I looked and the hangtag was also gone as well as the bead chain. So I looked around my feet and sure enough the hangtag and bead chain were on the ground behind me. I looked everything over and the chain connector seems tight. The fob must have landed flat on it's back because there isn't a scratch or spot on it or it's hardware anywhere. Don't know how in the heck it happened but I guess I can see how hangtags get lost.
I'm glad you didn't loose your charm and hangtag. Your red bag is so beautiful!

I found it. This is where all the missing straps and hang tags are!
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/293463524524

(I was trying to see if one of them was for gramercy I just got but I can’t really tell so I gave up haha)
I wonder what happened to the bags! Who is going to want to spend that much money for a bunch of straps when they probably only need one or two? Only one of those straps looks vintage. I don't recall ever seeing a Coach bag with the oval shaped clips.

It does make you wonder. The seller also has some random fob type items from a few other brands.
The reason I checked out their other items is that there one seller who has a boatload of hang tags, as well as an official looking Coach display sign/piece they use to photograph them next too. They seem to have a few small leather goods, no bags as I recall. Makes me wonder if they are a Coach employee, selling old/extra hang tags (not for cheap either) they get for free.

I personally don’t like extra things dangling on the bags, but instead of hanging the big charm on the ball chain, I would attach the clip where the strap attaches, and hang the ball chain from it.
