Well I just unwrapped my red Court and have to admit I am a tad disappointed. It's not cherry red like my basic bag. It's the slightly darker red. That means they can't share the strap and hangtag. It looked like that lovely red in the pictures. I worry it won't be as Christmas-y and 4th of july-y as I'd imagined. Sigh. On the bright side, this Court is in fantastic, and I mean fantastic, condition.

Just get a novelty strap...and a bright contrasting hangtag. Make it a feature.

How old is the Court? I know my Pocket Purse in red is more of a tomato red vs. my Patricia's Legacy which is a true red. And I believe it's due to the age. Older bags in red seem to be more orange based.

Shoutout to you katev, the Pierre bag is in. Thank you so much for the link that bag is in great condition, the inside is pristine and the outside just needs a little conditioning.

That's great news, I'm glad that it found a good home!

BTW, what is the color of your new Pierre bag? It just says "brown" in the listing. I think that most of the brown Italian Madison bags were "Beechnut" and some were a gray/brown "Granite" color - but they were all pretty!

I would agree with this. My red Pocket Purse (c.1989?1999?) and red Willis (c. 1996) are more tomato-esque than cherry. My red Slim Flap Saddle (c. 2002) and Hampton's Clip Hobo (c. 2001?) look more cherrylike.

Though... looking back at a pic I posted about a month ago, they all look pretty similar in shade. Maybe it's just the brass hardware that makes me feel like they're a little more tomato-esque whereas the nickel gives it a cherry vibe. Or maybe they all just color-corrected themselves on my phone somehow. The lighting wasn't the best, I'll admit!

I may have to do this. But its just that the basic bag is my NYC glued in reg bag so I really wanted it to be the way it was supposed to. I dunno, we'll see.

Its a 2001. So, I guess I should have realized it would not be that vintage tomato-ey red. I've been very aware of that fact while searching for a hangtag, so honestly I don't know why I was thinking this was going to be 80's red, I think it was because the photos looked that bright.

These are so pretty!!

See I don't think it will be quite the right red for my 4th of July scarf, so it also may not match the stars fob I am waiting on. Hmm. I still like the bag, and I am sure as soon as someone else swoons over it I will realize how much I like it. But again, its in such good condition, its like it hasn't even been carried.
ETA: heres the link to the listing photos, and it definitely looked brighter and more tomato-ey.

When you look at it on its own without comparing it to your basic bag, I think you'll like it better. I like both reds.

You're right, I am sure I will. I intend to carry it in a couple of weeks around Valentine's Day and I think it may match my heart fob better than the basic bag anyway because the fob was darker than it looked in pictures as well.
