I have the same bag in the same color. It looks like the Saddle swatch in this picture, lighter and more yellowy than another Saddle bag I have.
Good call!

I for one, would like to see the Creed on the green City bag.Great pictures, thanks!
I've NEVER seen a bright green City Bag, and the color isn't in any of the 1987 catalogs. I wonder if it's been dyed?
Wouldn't it be shocking if there was a fake in the archives?I for one, would like to see the Creed on the green bag.
I need “to see the receipts” on that one![]()
It would be freaking unbelievable. Could Coach ever live something like that down? Boy, that would create an awkward staff meeting for the Archive Dept.Wouldn't it be shocking if there was a fake in the archives?
Ooh that photo is very helpful! The back side on mine (the suede) looks closer to Putty, but the front side is more yellow/golden than any Putty I've seen. That's why I'm guessing Saddle, but who knows?
You're right about Tabac, it's usually darker brown than the trim on mine. It's probably Putty.
I wondered that too. In fact a couple of them look recolored to me.
They are confusing! I'm between Saddle and Putty from looking at the swatches in the picture.Or actually maybe it is putty? Or tabac? I think tabac is darker though. Saddle I believe has more yellow.
I can completely see Coach taking a lighter color bag, in good shape and dying it for this occasion, to round out the overall look of the bags saved.Great pictures, thanks!

We are back at the hotel and I’m going to try to figure out how to post the video. That bright green one was at the end and I didn’t capture it in the video...I wish I had though so we could have a better idea if it had been dyed.

I have always wondered if Coach ever asked for your opinion on any bags, and you just put that to rest! I too have wondered if the Archives acquired any fakes unknowingly. No it wouldn't. In fact I've always assumed that there were more than a few fakes hidden among the gems. Unless Jed is secretly reading all these posts and the Authentication and Authenticity threads, the Salearea Guides and the Daria48 Fakes List that has also been posted here I doubt very much if he has much experience in spotting some of the closer fakes. We've already read one example where he told a member that he thought something was probably genuine when we identified it here as fake.
He probably has a large photo library of older styles but not of the details we use to tell one from the other, and AFAIK he's never posted here asking about a questionable bag or serial number.

Nope, and I doubt if they've ever contacted BeenBurned or Whateve or NoShoePolish or anyone else here who's a verified authenticator. I douby very much if they even care.
The only fakes they're concerned with are the fakes of new and recent styles that directly take sales away from current Coach products. They don't give a fat rat's patoot if a ship unloads a dozen containers loaded with AAA fakes of vintage leather styles as long as it doesn't affect their bottom line.
I missed your post while I was drafting mine.I'm sure the PTBs at Coach wouldn't believe that we lowly consumers could possibly have more knowledge and experience than their own staff.![]()
