I didn't need to bathe it, but was willing to if needed. Katev has bathed a Sheridan bag and hers came out lovely. She posted a link about her experience, I believe in the Rehab and Rescue Club thread. It can be done. I used baby wipes first to wipe down the dust and little bit of dirt that was on it. Then I vacuumed out the interior. I used leather CPR with a rag and moisturized the entire thing. Even used q-tips to get into the hard to reach spots and stitched trim. Buffed it with a flannel cloth. Lastly I used vinegar and a no scratch steel wool to clean the brass hardware. This was an easy rehab, took me less than 2 hours total. Thanks for sharing the picture of your gorgeous new bag!! I have actually been looking for something like the Devon, but with a top handle, and I think this is IT!
I do have a few questions though - since it’s a lined bag, did you plan on bathing it (if it needed one)? And did you have to apply the conditioner differently? I’ve only had glove tanned leather bags and this one looks like pebbled leather (is it?)
