Here is the link for Authenticate This on the Shopping Subforum. That is the place to ask about authenticity. Look at the first post for the info required.I’d imagine you guys get a lot of this, but I just bought a coach bag and I need help determining if it’s real or fake. I’ve scoured the Internet, but unfortunately I can’t find anything that would give me a solid answer. It’s a small bag so there’s no serial number. I’m not sure if it’s new or old, as it’s not on the coach site any longer. The stitching is excellent and there doesn’t seem to be any flaws in the material that would make me think it’s cheap and there was one of those tags inside that buzz if you walk out the door. I’d appreciate any help or any Direction. Thanks!
No, Reread my post. I said I have the bag of yours on the right, in black.@Lake Effect you have the old??!!! I would love to see a photo!
Thank you so much for sharing that little gem! And confirming Rust as a color offering! And the colors my HG Shopping Bag Large is offered in!I found this order form for vintage styles, looks like the Courier came in sage green. View attachment 4341850
Let's co-write the online course and bring in the other authenticators as guest lecturersMe too. I didn't pay attention to fashion or handbags for most of my life, but suddenly I'm obsessed with vintage (and some not-quite-vintage) Coach: the pictures, the notes, the flash drive, the whole curriculum!

Great idea!Let's co-write the online course and bring in the other authenticators as guest lecturers![]()
A little bit of eye candy for y’all today! After finding this forum, and the various threads I just knew I’d found my peeps! SO happy to find I’m not the only one with this obsession. MANY thanks to Hyacinth and Been burned, and Whateve for their help in authenticating, and the Rescue thread for their amazing knowledge, (and saving me from BAD purchases!) I’ve learned so much in just a few short months.
First (but I think it posted last...UGH!!) pic..3bags in “process.” ..waiting for first buffing; my pups like to watch
Second and Third...most (uh, almost!) of my collection of Coaches (sorry for yukky closet lighting
Fourth ..just to be fair, I DO love me a few Isabella Fiore and Kate Spades
I’m thinking of going over to the “clean your closet” thread....I may have a little problem. (But I think y’all will understand!)
Let's co-write the online course and bring in the other authenticators as guest lecturers![]()
I would be on the edge of my seat.... and awake. Your knowledge is amazing and I love learning from all you share. Thank you!I'd probably put all the students to sleep! "Serial Number Fonts In The 1990s" would be a real snoozer.![]()
I had an nyc carrier.Good morning. I have several COACH Carrier bag questions after doing some research on them after I saw Hyacinth's last Tuesday's authentication on a very distressed Mocha Carrier. I'm hoping to get some information from one of the Musette, Carrier, Swag experts who probably know all these answers already.
1. I find Carriers have been referenced that they have (first?) been found in Holiday 1987 catalog which followed the smaller Musette which was (first?) referenced in the 1983 catalog. Does anyone know the start/end dates of the Musette and Carrier and the Swag manufacture?
2. In studying five Carrier bags I have found on eBay and Etsy, I find these five Carriers CREEDS only have MADE IN THE UNITED STATES (were any MADE IN NEW YORK CITY?) but there are two creed formats. One format has all lines right and left justified (found on 2 out of 5 bags), the other format has all R/L justified but the final line stopping just over half way on the line (found on 3 out of the 5 bags).
Hyacinth's authenticated bag has creed with all lines R/L justified and MADE IN THE UNITED STATES.
So were Carriers made in several US factories and that is why I am finding the two creed formats? They all look identical in the manufacture and design elements.....Thanks so much for any input help! Links to the bags I've been looking at are below.

When Coach started using the "made in the United States" creeds as opposed to the NYC creeds, there were 2 plants, so the differences could be because of that. They also could have more than one stamp available at one factory. The stamps wore out and they had to make new ones.Good morning.
