How can Coach remake the safari tote and then tell me it is sold out?
Note that the remake has only a single-side exterior pocket. And whereas the addition of a detachable strap and introduction of updated color combinations (midnight/chalk, blush/terracotta) are inoffensive alterations (IMHO), it's disappointing that they elect to not stay true to the essential nature of the original.

Can someone comment on the quality of leather in these? I recently attempted to rehab an MFF bag made in China from 2008, and was very disappointed. The Safari tote remake looks great, but what kind of quality can they get at these prices? BTW, I don’t think they were ever for sale at a higher price, so that’s effectively their price point.

IMO, they won't be as nice as older Coach. It isn't being made in China that is the problem. It's the way they process leather now.

Interesting! Weird that the Coach plate is on the outside. The piping looks like plastic. I have an older bag with what looks like plastic piping. What is that along the edge of the zipper?
I only see curled back leather on both sides of the pipings. Is that what you're referring to?
