hi, I am checking a coach Willis bag which doesn't have clear picture about the creed.
The serier number is C8U-9927
I am an amateur vintage bag collector, does anyone know C8U means made in which country? I know it's made in 1998 March by C8, but what U stands for?

Do you think I should only buy vintage bags that's made in the United States to begin with?

U is Hungary. You really need to be able to see the creed in order to make sure it is authentic. Coach made quality bags in many countries, not just the US. China is the only country you should steer away from.

Thank you! It's harder and harder to get a good condition vintage coach bag. I won a Willis bag in dark brown on eBay, the condition is just OK, some signs of ware but nothing broken. I am surprised how supple the leather is even it's made 20 years ago! It started my coach vintage feaver since then.

I'm only attracted by certain vintage design. And I am not very good at restoring bags. My current aim is a mint condition Willis in black /w gold hardware, a mint condition Court bag in any color. But it's just so hard to find.

They are hard to find because these styles were loved and used. Smaller bags are easier to find in mint condition.

Thank you dear for helping me find the good condition bag.
I must be crazy, I've bought 3 Willis bag from eBay in one week. But considering how much I used to pay for the recent design at the Coach boutique, I don't feel guilty :graucho:
I may eventually keep the best condition one and sell the others on eBay again, but at this point I am enjoying the process of collect

Yep. My Willis spent a few years in the closet, but since iPads came around, it’s been a workhorse. I can’t tell you how many time at various business conferences women would look at my Willis and ask: what is it? where did you get it?
