Speaking of city bags, look what I found at the local thrift store. Everyone was going for some cheap, plastic totes at $4.99 (but they were *new*!!) while I quietly grabbed this little navy blue beauty for $1.99.

What a score. And I lovvvve navy! My all time favorite, my real vintage love is a navy Bleeker tote 9302. She really sealed my love for vintage Coach. She has been there when a relationship ended, when I got laid off, when I finally found a job. And it's late and I feel super sappy, but I had a girlfriend who was very ill, cancer and went way downhill, faster than expected. I was with her all morning in the ER the day she died. I had that bag and needed to constantly rummage through it for my cell phone , charger , tissues, pen and paper while trying to wrap my head over what was going down. I couldn't change out of that bag for months because I associated her being alive while I was using that bag. Damn. Who says they're just bags? Okay. Sappiness over. Night all.

Not sappy to me, dear Lake. These bags carry our keys and cell phones, yes, but they can also carry so much more: our joys, our sorrows, our plans and dreams. Their beautiful skins absorb it all. Thank you for sharing that story.

I just got a Courier from someone who said her late mother bought it from a Coach store onboard a cruise ship! Whadya know?! I'd be very curious to know what that store/display might've looked like back then.
I just love learning little nuggets from a bag's history when I get it. Makes it special to me until I put my own memories in it, as so warmly described above.
