Pricey indeed, especially when compared to what a sweet little red one on shopgoodwill fetched a couple of weeks ago. Puts the asking at twice the market. Quite ambitious I'd say.

No, regrettably it isn't. I just happened to see it when it was first posted and made note of it since it was quite attractive. I'm currently trying to limit my own acquisitions to before 1972 pre-creed (metal tag or earlier) styles that I don't already have examples of. I'm finding that maintaining discipline can be challenging though. Candidly, I'm waiting to be blessed with opportunities to land at reasonable prices any of the ten styles that are on my wish list. Not that I'd refuse taking advantage of a BIN bargain if one should appear. Also, new homes really need to be found for all the NYC-made gems that were accumulated back when I they were of interest. They deserve to be put back to use.

I have a question for you vintage collectors. Do the bags with the little metal tags from the 1960s come with the same little rectangular patch hang tag as later bags? I have only one metal tag bag and I swear the tag doesn't really look like it belongs to it, plus, it looks/feels like someone might have painted it in attempt to make it match better.
