Hi Coach gurus, I wonder if some of you can help?
I'm searching for a vintage or near vintage Coach shoulder bag without lining, and not a shopper-style, that is quite thick so that my dSLR fits inside with screen facing the bottom. I think it needs to be 4 1/2 or at least 4 1/4 in thick. I've recently sold my "camera bag" that was a shoulder bag made by Cowboysbag (a Dutch company) and I regretted it. The bag look like this: Cowboy.JPG
I'm not searching a exact style just so that it's thick enough... What I've seen of the Coach bags (at least the vintage ones) are all relatively slim comparing modern bags so I'm not sure if it's possible? I love this forum with soooo many knowledge people, so it's ever been made by Coach somebody knows it:yes: TIA!!!

Hi and welcome.
You might look at the Baxter satchel, style #9903 (12" x 8" x 5 1/2")

or the Barclay tote, style #9896 (16" x 11" x 5 1/4").

The original Rambler is 4 1/2 inches deep but I think that includes the depth of the outside pocket. How about a duffle sac? It is plenty deep.View attachment 3653083
Thank you @whateve for your recommendation!!
I have already a bag that resembles the duffle sac, what I call a "black hole style" that I don't use very much...
But I really REALLY like the style of the original Rambler, I think the 4 1/2 inch minus the thickness of the outside pocket is just about the minimun 4 1/4 that I need. Besides Coach's old leather is so soft and flexible that even if it's tight-ish it won't harm my camera at all.
I've seen it now and then in Ebay and Etsy, now I'm going to get one for myself... I'm so excited:yahoo:

@weiste lol and co-sign on your description of the black hole quality of the duffle sac. And years ago, I handled one in an outlet and it was heavy empty! That more ore less has steered me away from them too.
But now I have caught the rehab bug and feel like I have found my people here on the forum : ) I recently picked up a shoulder sac which is good for tucking in one more as I walk out the door. And a rambler is most def on my wish list. But I have picked up a few bags recently that need to get authenticated and cleaned up first.
Hi all, happy *Coaching*!

Hi all, happy *Coaching*!
Welcome! I love the shoulder sac. I too think the duffle sac is a black hole.

I also like the pocket bag. Sometimes people mistakenly call it a Rambler because it looks like a larger version of Rambler's Legacy.
I've never had a Spectator bag, but it looks like a nice bag too, and it is deeper.

And thanks for posting the Pocket bag listing. When I saw the Compartment bag listing above I knew I had seen recently a reference to a larger version of it!! I want lol. And I like with the catalog listings you see what colors it was offered. Thanks again.

You're welcome. There were often colors available that might not show in the catalog since many styles were made for more than one season.

Thanks for the welcome. I have been wanting to rehab for a while and the amount of info and experience here is amazing. I feel awkward with working the blog, but I am willing to persevere. And someone already, Raviee (sp?) offered info on an iPad app as I was having trouble uploading a photo. That's nice! I feel like I have found my people lol. And no one here will ever say to me, You bought another Coach bag??
