The person who has been buying everything in sight outbid me on a mahogany one a few days earlier and then had the audacity to say she didn't know why she wanted it! So I felt redeemed once I won the red one. I guess she missed it! There were quite a few bidders; I'm surprised I got it for such a great price!

I don't know about that duffel. By the way, the seller just revised the listing. I don't remember what the price was before. I bought a red Legacy west 9823 at a thrift store that looked nearly that bad. It was amazing at how well it rehabbed. It looked completely faded but the color restored without needing any dye.

There is also this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Handb...916?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e9d9537b4 It is a great size.

This one is gorgeous: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Authentic-C...621?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33a1a7dbad
Thanks whateve. Both are lovely. That drawstring duffel is gorgeous. My friend doesn't want one in that style but I might be interested! :graucho: She fell in love with my Sheridan Savannah, but it is too small. I'd love a Savannah in a bigger size too.

These all had special hangtags so I doubt you'll ever find the right one. Brass would look pretty.

I agree.

On a related note... I'm always wondering why I never find any of the many missing hangtags on the street like finding an occasional penny. Actually, I did find one once on an airplane, then I realized it was from MY purse. :P

I've never found any either! When my outlet had been open for less than a month, I asked for a hangtag. They brought out a box that must have had over 100 hangtags. I asked if Coach had given them a starter set of hangtags when they opened up. The SA said, no, all those hangtags had been collected off the floor since they had opened, just from the items in the store.

Wow. I've done my share of asking for replacements but now I am picturing crawling around on the outlet floor looking for hangtags! :)

What is the 9823 like? I've seen a couple and they were made in 2001. Like this one. I think I've seen you say that the US leather from early noughties is really nice. It might not be big enough though.

I rehabbed one of those. It was amazing at how well the red recovered! I can't remember how nice the leather was but I think the bag is kind of small. In my rehab pile, I have a 9186. The leather seems really nice, but mine has ink on it so I haven't done anything with it yet. I think they made a larger version which might be perfect for your friend. Maybe something like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-RED-L...689?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item234f3de8b1

The bag I was referring to when I said the leather was fantastic was the Legacy drawstring #9165. It has the most amazing leather!

If you're really lucky, you might be able to find a 2012 Legacy duffle in black cherry. Those are very nice bags. The leather isn't as wonderful as vintage but it's still nice.
