She was absolutely adamant about needing it. She also insisted on having the registration number, which of course I don't have. I just told politely told her I would look for that information and call back. Honestly, I just wanted to call right back and hope for a different representative; however, I figured I may as well go ahead and get as much information as possible before calling back. Usually when I call they ask for the style number, which I typically always know, but then when they find out it's an older bag they just disregard that information and ask for the color of the hardware. This representative did inform me though that Dakotas had "specialty" hangtags -- I think they are larger and one sided she said -- and she wanted to try and get me one of these, perhaps that's why she was so insistent on the style number? The "specialty" tag would of course be nice, but I had expected to simply be sent the brass one like always.

If she absolutely won't send you the tag without a number, just give her one from one of my Sheridans. You can use 0205-355 which is from a Sheridan I donated to one of our local resale shops, and give her the correct style number too. The Sheridans and Dakotas had the same hangtags, they were 2-sided and a little bit thicker than the standard 2-sided hangtag used at the time on standard Coaches. And they were always dark tan/caramel-colored on the Dakotas.

I wonder if she's talking about the new larger brass ones that someone posted a pic of recently.

I think the problem might be that there currently is a style called Dakotah, and she might be confusing your bag with those. You just confuse them if you give them the style name, since Coach reuses style names.

My sleep cycle is so messed up it will never be normal again. We Old Bags nap during the day and wake up at 3AM

Let's see if looking at a whole bunch of pictures of old bags has relaxed me enough to get back to sleep... :sleepy:

You make me feel so much better, I thought I was the only one with an odd sleep cycle. I feel like a vampire somedays, but I honestly sleep better during the day.

I heard that looking at a computer screen has a tendency to keep you awake. That's why sleep experts say you should read in bed old school (paper) instead of using Kindles etc.

A couple of NYT articles about blue light and sleep:

A possible (if goofy) solution:

Aging can take care of the problem, apparently:

Good luck. I sleep best if I have had vigorous physical activity (such as hiking or gardening) that day, and if the bedroom is cool. Otherwise, all bets are off.

Thanks for the links, lots there to think about.

How many perfect red bags does one need? Here is my newest love, shoulder sac, one of my favorite styles! She has two rivets on each strap and seems very sturdy. The previous owner said she wasn't used much.

ETA: I think my black one must have had extra holes punched in the strap since it has more holes than this one.

Oh wow! Congratulations! That is one sexy bag. I'd be too scared to use it unless I was carrying a buffing brush around with me!
