I have an early NYC burgundy duffle sac that has a double sided strap like the stewardess bags. I don't know if it is original to the bag. The zipper needed replaced, and the piping was split across the top. I brought it to my cobbler, he said he would replace the zipper with a ykk zipper and replace the piping. I wish I could have Coach repair it but I have previously sent a bag to coach for repairs - sent back unrepaired with a 40 percent off coupon. I'm hoping it's a good repair. I was the winner of the pony express bag. I have been looking for a pony express in black for years, I'm so happy I won it, and hope it doesn't need too much rehab
Wow, it's amazing you found someone who would replace a zipper. A leather repair here told me it would cost $195 for that, and $145 of it was for the brass zipper.

Lucky you, winning the pony express bag! I'm not sure the seller knew what they had. I wonder if they are surprised at the bidding.

I said a cobbler, but is actually a luggage repair service. There is one in Tampa that is the authorized repair vendor for several brands of luggage. They are charging me 90 dollars for the zipper and the piping repair. They repaired the seam on another bag and did a great job. I had wanted a NYC duffle in burgundy and found one on ebay and couldn't tell from the pictures the condition issues. I wish I had bought the one Tetondeb sold awhile back. I spent too long deciding and it sold, it was gorgeous.

do you like the two sided strap?

do you like the two sided strap?
Yes, I do like the two sided strap better. It seems like there is less piping and edges to break or wear, and it looks great for being at least 20 years old. I only wish it were longer, I like to wear my bags cross body. I bought style 9952 Lula legacy bags in black and brown to use the straps on other bags. The straps on those are really long!

The Question is will DH !be doing this??:rockettes::rockettes: when he gets the bill???

I hope you have picked out some gifts for your Hubby to buy you from your kids, too..
I used to point to stuff I wanted on the screen, and say "Lucas,do you want to buy this for mommy??" he always did, so we would use the credit card &check out online together!!
..mother-son shopping/bonding experiences? PRICELESS!!

Beautiful!
Very nice!
Ooh, lucky you! congratulations!
Thank you. I can't wait to rehab her!

Wishful thinking. He's not so good with tools. Musical instruments are his thing. I'D be happy with a Dremel though.

Has anyone ever seen an organizer pouch? It looks a lot like a classic pouch but is squarer. I wonder if it has pockets inside since it is called "organizer."

Whateve, I'd LOVE to see more pages from that 1978 catalog if you ever have time to take pictures or scans. I knew that the Slim Pouch 9640 was the early version of the Station Bag but didn't know it had a different style number. Cool!

Wow. Did you see how much this went for after getting no bids the first time?
