How are strawberry plants "vintage" or "hand made?"

Clearly, Etsy doesn't enforce the rules!
No, they really do not. But what is surprising (well not REALLY) is that there are folks who "buy" this nonsense, at unbelievable prices. I often compare purse prices (when possible) on etsy vs some other platform (same purse/same seller) and etsy prices are almost always higher.

Etsy used to have the cheapest fees but the last time I sold something on there it cost around 25%. Apparently if a buyer finds you through an ad, they tack on a large fee.

Never having sold anything on any of these platforms, I don't know what percentage they charge, but 25% is highway robbery. As, btw, is the ever-rising cost of shipping for the ever decreasing quality of postal service. (Not blaming the folks working for the system, but rather the system itself)

I have no business looking at listings. That leads to purchasing! But this calls to my BT soul. This would look gorgeous after a little conditioner, imo. A little rusty on my style names, it is probably a Lightweight. N/a

Hmm. Interesting.

I got a PM through ebay asking about a listing. Apparently the person was a potential buyer but had let the seller know that the bag is a 2004, not 1994 as it was advertised. (Note that the description on this listing as well as the seller's other listings, the bag was authenticated in a certain Facebook group. The seller told the buyer that she trusts this particular group and has not revised the listing.)

I told the buyer that I didn't dispute their finding on authenticity but if this group is dispensing misinformation, I hope buyers will be wary of the accuracy of the group.

Just to clarify, it was made in 2004. This is a known mistake of the Costa Rican plant.

Yes, and that's what the buyer tried to tell the seller. But the seller was stuck on the information they'd been given by coach counterfeits.

So the buyer was double checking with me to see if she (the buyer) was wrong or if the seller was wrong. At the time (and at this time), the listing wasn't corrected.

Some people can never be convinced they are wrong.

@ConnieinSeattle Since you asked, … I found a catalog listing with it’s name, Boat Tote, when someone posted the Google link in the vintage catalog thread
Here it is! My latest and incredibly special vintage Coach addition! :girlsigh: It checks so many boxes! A beautiful golden tan, fabulous condition, well stored and a bit of mystery about it!!! Haha and big and roomy.

I know this really can't be verified, but I want to post as much info as I can here and in another post, in case anyone comes across any catalog information in the future. I believe my bag could very well be the one posted in the advertising Catbird9 found, # 9510 and posted in the link below.

Down the center seam it measures 14 ", across the width, at the bottom of the tab attachments (it tapers somewhat from top to bottom), 17" and 4 1/2" across the bottom.

It's made in the style of the Shopping Bag, large #9565 which we have catalog pics with measurements to verify. There is also the Shopping Bag, small which I don't think there have been any catalog pics found as of yet (I believe it listed on a price sheet that has been posted). It has center seams, like the front center seam on the #9565 and rounded corners on the bottom, with the pieces that make up the bottom joined with a center seam that make the side of the bag and extend to the top of the bag.

Just for a little perspective, with the Janice sized Berk Zip and a newly refurbished Shoulder Purse, #9385. If anyone has any other information to add, the would be great! :flowers:

I'll add another post with some other posting on a shorter version of this bag.
