I received this bag today and I really really cannot figure out what color it is, seller couldn't either. It's either green or navy I think. Dark gray? It looks completely different in different lighting settings. Any opinions or ideas to figure it out would be appreciated. I really think it looks green on the outside and navy on the inside but I don't think it was dyed.

I see a really distressed black, but don’t go by me. What year/range is it?

The inside in the most protected part is usually the best indicator of original color. I think it is either black or navy. I'm not seeing green.

Thanks! It's very strange. I think it's navy, but when I'm holding it in natural light, I see green. Once I do the rehab will it be more likely or less to show me the real color? It's not black. I'm (pretty) sure of that. It's blue, I guess. I think I wanted it to be green (my fave color) so maybe I'm seeing it that way. Anyway, it's in fairly good condition and I'm going to do my rehab.

Yes, it should be closer to the original color after the rehab.

Black. Try Leather Honey and you won't believe the difference, poor bag is parched.

Hi, asking for more opinions on another 'what color is this bag'? Black or Blue? IMG_9845.jpegIMG_9842.jpegIMG_9840.jpegIMG_9836.jpegThe seller sold this Sheridan Monticello as blue, but as soon as I opened the package, I thought 'Black!'. But now I'm not sure. I have a hard time telling dark navy from black in general. These are pics next to my blue Sheridan Richmond which is obviously a blue. As Connie said, it's hard to photograph the exact color. I really wanted a blue Monticello, but black would be ok too. :)

Whoever can tell the difference must have amazing eyesight and and the ability to see every spectrum of visible light… they both look like some form of black to me, with different undertone  one looks like a warm-toned black and the other looks like a cool-toned black to me just with these photos… I’d love to hear what others think

Although I do understand that Coach’s navy is notoriously dark with the vintage bags. I have a navy Pierre bag that I cannot photograph properly. In daylight, it’s clearly not black… but in photos or bad lighting? Impossible to capture or tell

It's black. I'm pretty sure the blue of Sheridans would be the same throughout the line, just like your Richmond.
