I am very sorry if my silly mock up 'Millis' was offensive. I was trying to lighten the mood and be silly. I don't want to make fun of someone or be known to be like that.

Hello! I posted this morning with questions about a vintage Coach Bantam mini backpack. The questions were primarily regarding the straps and the comfort of carrying. I have seen other posts addressing opinions of details of bags. I just received a notification that my post was removed as inappropriate. I am truly sorry if this is not allowed.
It's possibly it was made earlier and just didn't make it into a catalog. The only catalog I have with it is 1991 and it isn't listed as new.Hello! I am new to this forum and I have a question regarding a bag that I was given.
I have a navy blue "Scout" back with a springlock closure (it's definitely a Scout! Model #9890). The creed is stamped "Coach Leatherware". It was made in the United States. The serial # is 633-3143.
The thing is, I downloaded all of the catalogs posted in the reference thread from 1976 through the early 2000s. This bag is shown in the 1992 catalog and in the 1992 Fall Preview Catalog. The thing is, this bag was gifted to me in 1989! It was gently used at that time, but I am certain of the date because I met my husband in January of 1990 and carried the bag on our first date!
Can anyone help me? Was my friend a time-traveler? Was this bag made prior to its 1992 calendar appearance?
Yes, that is exactly the information I needed. The straps are very narrow and I figured they would be a nuisance after awhile. Thank you, Coachaddict4020! I appreciate that you took the time to reply. Were you trying to figure out if the straps would be comfortable as a backpack carry or crossbody? I don’t own a bantam but I do have multiple bags that have the same strap width. They’re fine for crossbody & shoulder use but do start to dig in after about an hour of carry.
Took me by surprise. I wasn’t replying to any posts, just asking about straps!Repost your question....it might have been part of a mass removal of certain replies by mistake I had one removed as well.
If they say solid brass does that usually mean it’s fake?I actually found a similar one! No. G4D-9951 but the buckles are marked SOLID BRASS so I've asked for authentication.
Most vintage bags have gone up quite a bit in price. There’s a white one on Etsy for $350. There us a really pretty yellow color that pops up sometimes but I haven’t seen many Lindy bags.Hey sorry for the late reply
I really need to see a picture of the Lindy on, I’m not sure how big it is. Colour I’m hoping for a warm colour. Eek how expensive are we talking lol
Thanks Paris Girl, I really love the classic look to the Lindy bags but I think maybe I shouldn’t spend that much if I want to eat tooMost vintage bags have gone up quite a bit in price. That's the navy one, right? There were spectator bags made in the early 90s. Those had tabac trim. In 2001, they made a line of spectator bags with parchment trim, like your bag. There is a city, court, compact pouch and pocket purse that I know of. They came in three colorways, navy, wine, and camel, all with parchment trim. The court had the same style number as the earlier bags, 6870. The others had new numbers, 9667 (city), 9668 (pocket purse), 9669 (compact pouch). This is one of the bags in my collection and I’ve been trying to find others in the same color online to compare. They’re nearly impossible to find! Why?! This color existed right?!?! ♀ Is this a city spectator bag or do all those have the brown trim? View attachment 5332397
Not necessarily. It depends on what style it is and when it was made. Some lines of bags used solid brass, and earlier NYC bags also used solid brass. Your best bet is to get it authenticated. If they say solid brass does that usually mean it’s fake?
No apology needed for me.I apologise to anyone who had a post removed because it tied into or quoted several of my own posts that were removed. I hope you'll be able to re-post any comments or questions that weren't connected to mine.
Ahh ok thanks that’s good to know. I didn’t realize it was called parchment trim. I’m learning so much from you thank you so much! ☺️That's the navy one, right?
