The other one is a dark brown. I spent what seemed like hours trying to find out the names of the colors. It seems they changed from year to year so you need to know the year your bag was made and find it in a catalog to see what colors were called that year.
It's probably mahogany. Mahogany varied from year to year and plant to plant but the name remained the same.

I think the smaller one would be better suited for me because I use the Collegiate almost daily so size wise, they seem similar. Im just not sure if I should wait for one to pop up or buy the regular sized one cause it’s a nice colour…decisions decisions…. I shouldn’t even be spending money right now but Im so bad when it comes to being on a ban, I somehow always end up buying something

The small one does hold quite a bit. I have noticed them popping up since I bought mine. Are you looking for a particular color? I wish I could have bought the BT one that sold recently. That bag in BT would be perfect for me.

The small one Ill take in any colour so if you see one, please PM me (Even if it’s US only). Thank you!

^unless ofcourse you come across one that you want for yourself which is totally fine by me!

Can I get some opinions on the 9170 Classic Shoulder bag? I found one in a colour I really like but Im not sold on the style yet. I was hoping to find the smaller version but they’re so hard to come by .

So to the people who own them: Do you love it? Hate it? Is it comfortable? Easy to access your stuff? Thanks!
@Coachaddict4020 I do have one. It’s approximately 9.5”x8.5x4”. It’s a pristine NYC bag but I wasn’t crazy about the colour (still not sure what it is) but couldn’t let it go because, as an object, it is so lovely. I started using it and I love it. Not normally a fan of shoulder bags, but it’s really comfortable to carry and easy to get in and out of. A resounding thumbs up!

Thanks! I think Im gonna wait for a small one to pop up in my price range. I did see a small rust one get listed today but it’s way too expensive for me lol. The bigger one I was looking at is burgundy which is tempting because I’ve been wanting burgundy for a while. You’ve all sold me on the style for sure, now to find the right size…

I’ve really cut down my bag hunting lately (which my wallet thanks me for) but my sister came to visit and brought me a little gift…

finally got my hands on a yellow Watson!:yahoo: Can’t wait to make her look brand new:girlsigh:
Lovely, I see my sisters and they're like, are you using that bag (aka, do you need it, if not ...)

I only have brothers who have no interest.
But I do have a friend who used to manage Habitat for Humanity...and if any good bags came in she would keep them aside for me...that how I got my Alviero Martini crossbody bag.

You know there are vintage catalogs listed in another thread, right? If you find a bag you like, and you can see the Creed, that will give you a lot of info on how to estimate when it was produced and in what colors.
But yes, even with all that info, it can be a bit of leg work to get an idea of what color a bag is or what colors it was offered in. I find many older colors change with age, wear, the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, etc, so it is possible to end up with bag that looks a bit different from what it looked like when brand new.
IMO, all bets are off for neutrals offered before 1993.
