In my experience, Craigslist is full of crazies. If you really want the bags, dial *67 (if it works with your provider) to make your number anonymous to this guy or get a google voice number (its free). Then if you proceed to take the risk of meeting up with him, take someone you trust, preferably a male & only meet in the daytime at a public spot where there’s cameras. Some people have mentioned their local police stations have an area set up where buyers/sellers can safely meet to make a sale. Check if your local police stations have this.

If your gut/instincts are telling you something is wrong, listen to them. It’s not worth your safety/well-being to get some handbags. Please be careful & keep us updated if you do decide to go through with calling & meeting up with this person!
I decided to pass. A motivated seller would be more cooperative I think. Chances are he's not a serial killer luring women with rare vintage bags but I don't need the bags bad enough to find out.

I agree. Prob not on a serial killer career path but sound like a complete pain in the Ashtabula. When I bought my color block Rambler (what I call the project spectator Rambler these days) on CL, we did it all by email though. But seller was more than responsive with additional pics, info, etc.

I prefer email. He didn't even say to text him, he wanted to talk. Assuming he didn't know the bags by name or he would have advertised/priced them accordingly, how were we supposed to discuss specific bags by phone? What was I going to do, describe them by size and characteristics because he wouldn't look at photos? No thanks. What a boob.

ETA: I also wasn't about to drive into the city to find out the bags I was interested in were already sold. I did want that rust shoulder pouch though. It was supposedly mint condition.

At this point I can’t see me doing anything in person unless they are willing to do it in the safe transaction space at the two police departments by me.
Side note, did they only sell the rust bags in the Mid-west??

My instinct telling me he is not a serial killer, but a lonely widower who is selling his late wife’s bags. Lol…

You're probably right. I'm just irritated that he would not tell me via email if the 4 bags I circled and numbered in screen shots were available or not. All he had to do was say "1 and 2 are sold, 3 and 4 are still available. Please call me." Easy enough. Oh well. I gave up very quickly, which is a big hint that I really didn't want them that badly any way.

Wow it looks like my large rust Saddle bag has a little buddy out there. I can't believe how many watchers there are ...

I think there were 37 or 41 watchers on the auction I won and I thought that was crazy.
Okay putting aside the condition of the bag, I just spent time going thru bags that I have put aside for one reason or another and finally talked myself out of this. I have masking tape across my keyboard as a reminder not to bid. Yeah.

Can I get some opinions on the 9170 Classic Shoulder bag? I found one in a colour I really like but Im not sold on the style yet. I was hoping to find the smaller version but they’re so hard to come by .

So to the people who own them: Do you love it? Hate it? Is it comfortable? Easy to access your stuff? Thanks!
yes! @coachaddict.
I love mine! All NYC, very comfortable. Easy access. Only one thing that I am less fond of is security since it is a flap, no zipper or turn lock. They are shoulder, not crossbow but another strap can be used to make it crossbody

I don't have one but if I found one in a nice color I would get it. At one time I thought they were too plain. Now I think they would be so easy to carry.
