Wow it looks like my large rust Saddle bag has a little buddy out there. I can't believe how many watchers there are ...
VTG COACH PRE CREED BONNIE CASHIN ERA BURNT ORANGE LEATHER SADDLE BAG CROSSBODY | eBay
I think there were 37 or 41 watchers on the auction I won and I thought that was crazy.
The piping is crazy. I wonder if that will discourage bidding. I’ll start popping

I've been watching this one, too. Be aware, this seems to be a small saddle bag. The dimensionss of 9.5 x 8 x 3 with a 14-18 inch drop are pretty close to the dimension of a really small saddle style 9205 that I had authenticated a few weeks ago. That one was 9 x 8 x 3 with a 16.5 inch drop. Love the color but the size is not for me at all. Also, currently 68 watchers.

Yes, hence my comment, the little buddy. Lol, I have looked at so many listing over the past 5 years, I can sort of eyeball size based on the dimensions in comparison to the strap, buckles, etc. I bought a few bags online back around 2006 and that gave me feel that even given having dimensions correctly listed in listings, smaller bags were often too small for my needs. So that started me really thinking about dimensions in online listings. And to pay super close attention to the dimensions given in the small print in the eBay description ;)
I saw a small NYC Saddle bag at a thrift shop years ago and since have seen them regularly in online listings. I have what feels like the huge! version of this bag.

eta, at least the seller has the dimensions clearly stated in the description. In this listing, at least the product details in the box are correct, but it is easy to forget to check this, especially if it is hawt bag!

Now I get it! The huge! version in rust is exactly what I'd like to find.

I found a rust shoulder pouch (I think), black OG Rambler, black Regina, and a mahogany square shaped bag with a buckle (can't remember the name to save my life) in a lot among other vintage bags on Craigslist today but the seller is being kinda sketchy so I'm not sure if I want to proceed. I contacted him using my "spare" email address and he said some of the bags were still available but he wanted me to call him. I took screen shots of the bags I was interested in and asked if those specific bags were still available and all he said was "You have to call me if you're interested in them." He could have said yes or no but he didn't. So now I'm annoyed and I dont want him to have my phone number. I have reasons for being overly cautious. What would you do?

In my experience, Craigslist is full of crazies. If you really want the bags, dial *67 (if it works with your provider) to make your number anonymous to this guy or get a google voice number (its free). Then if you proceed to take the risk of meeting up with him, take someone you trust, preferably a male & only meet in the daytime at a public spot where there’s cameras. Some people have mentioned their local police stations have an area set up where buyers/sellers can safely meet to make a sale. Check if your local police stations have this.

If your gut/instincts are telling you something is wrong, listen to them. It’s not worth your safety/well-being to get some handbags. Please be careful & keep us updated if you do decide to go through with calling & meeting up with this person!

Hard pass. And my collection is no where near as nice as yours.

My local thrift was having a sale so I went in for a quick browse. Ended up finding another vintage coach bag! $12.50 for this red lady:

Brb, gonna go buy a lottery ticket with all this good luck I’ve been having :panic:
I have seen so many bags from this line in red in consignment and thrift shops. This was how I learned how soft Costa Rican leather is typically. I have this bag in light brown, I think they called it Vicuna! It is made and China. The leather is okay, extremely thin. At least it makes for a lightweight bag. It's not a forever bag though. It came in a bundle with Buckle bag.
