No problem, LE! I've come to believe she is saddle.
For anyone who is interested, and I thought of you. I downloaded it from an online listing for a 1985 catalog.

1985 from on listing.jpg

I love when I can source stuff that is likely reliable for a date or other information! In case anyone else geeks out over catalogs
eta, oh look, on my nice big lap top monitor I can see copyright 1985!

I don't own one, but do have some current bags from before discovering vintage. Although the new bags start out very pretty, they do not have the quality or durability of our vintage loves. IMHO the new bags are unforgiving, so I use them sparingly and carefully. I wouldn't put anything in an exterior pocket except perhaps a receipt or shopping list. Sorry, perhaps not the response you hoped for.
That is exactly the response I was hoping for. I love the look of the new bags, especially the burnished bags, but I figure they're like a new car. As soon as you take them for a spin they lose half their value and it's super stressful to avoid those door dings up until they finally get dinged. You know what I mean? They are so expensive for far less of the value and I really, really hate having to stress about my bags getting dinged.

Thank you!! :flowers:

If you are going to buy a new bag, wait until it goes to the outlet and sells for at least 50% off.

Was the Rambler’s legacy only offered in one shade of grey? Specifically for one made in 99’
I assume so. If there was another, it would have been made at a different time. They wouldn't have had two greys in the same season, but there could be variations in dye lot, and use and aging could affect how a color will look.

Thank you! This will be helpful when I receive my brown Basic bags. Think they might be Tabac and Mocha.

The lighting has been difficult today thanks to the clouds, but here is the before & after of my “rust” dye job. I ran out of red acrylic paint but I think if I added more, it would’ve given me a deeper red-orange payoff. The acrylic paint also changed the formula of the dye. I noticed it applied different than the black dye I used on my courier. If you zoom in, you can see a tiny bit of streaking too. Overall, it scratched the rust itch for me but I wouldn’t recommend doing it unless your bag is beat up like mine & you’re able to mix the right amount of red paint in to make it look rusty without further compromising the dye formula. It’s very tricky lol:

Eta: I was too lazy to polish the turn lock... :roflmfao:

It looks great! It reminds me of the mango color from the late 90s.

It looks great. Is the dye from same place as the black dye for Courier? I never know dye and paint can be mixed together, thanks for posting this.
