It's also one of the last bags, if not THE last, to have "solid brass" on the strap buckle.

Still no name for it though. I keep hoping one will turn up with a valid and complete price tag or box. But until one does, I'm going to continue lobbying for my personal choice of name. Since the Dakota line's style names all have Western connections except maybe for the Harvest Tote, and since there's already a Cassidy Mini Bag in the Dakota line, there really should be a Sundance Bag, right? Where would Butch have been without Sundance?

Damn, ain't they pretty!

I like it! Sundance Bag it is!!

I am bag banned After all my covid vintage buys and my recent Hermes purchase set to arrive tomorrow. Especially since the promotion I was a lock for is uncertain with the departure of both my bosses. My job isn’t in jeopardy, but the promo would have been an extra $2-$4 an hour.
I'm sorry to hear that. $2-$4 an hour is a pretty significant loss. You got some spectacular bags though, I hope they keep you content for a while! I'm looking forward to seeing the pic of your Hermes. I have to ask - did you pay $$$$$ for it? I wouldn't even know how to shop for an Hermes. I see the Himi croc Birkins on eBay for more than what I paid for my house and I start having a stroke. I can't look anymore.

My daughter once told me I couldn't spend more for a bag than she spent for her car. Her first car was a real junker, well under $1000. It was older than she was. I've gotten used to spending up to $300 for a bag without feeling stressed, but when things get north of $500, I get nervous.

I went through a vegan phase when I was 21 and I became obsessed with Stella McCartney bags. It still pains me to recall how much I spent on my Falabella. It should be illegal for a polyester bag to be over $700!!! :panic: (In all seriousness though, the quality was pretty amazing and if you’re rich and vegan then yea girl spend that $$$ lol)

Oh yeah, $500 is definitely twitchy territory for me. That's a lot for a purse for me!

The promotion isn’t dead in the water, but it went from me singing “we’re in the money” to having one more thing to be worried and upset about in light of the abrupt promotions of both my principals. By abrupt I mean neither applied for their new jobs, they were told Friday this was happening, I was told Monday They were moving and yesterday (we don’t work Fridays in summer) was their last day. Because why would a school need consistent leadership and as few surprises as possible right now, right? Rolling eyes. I loved my bosses, but I am as angry at the stupidity of doing this now as I am upset at losing them as part of my day and losing certainty of the promotion.

Anyway, I bought a PM sized Evelyne that is from 2003. New they sell for around $3300 in clemence and epsom, not sure what they charge for barenia if you find one, they don’t do many in that leather. With tax I paid a little over $1200 which I didn’t think was bad. There were 2 dirty ones for $700 I looked at but Hermes leather can’t be cleaned at home like Coach so by the time I drove an hour to the nearest H store and paid for spa services, the price would have been close to what I paid for one that didn’t need the spa right away. I had contacted a known reseller who sold some in the $900-$1100 range hoping she had A barenia one ready to list, but weeks later no communication beyond that she would look so I bought from a Japanese reseller with great feedback, hoping I don’t get hit with a huge customs bill.

My search for the perfect everyday green bag is over! Meet my green Prairie and her contents, and let me praise her.
Like @LunaSilver I maybe prefer the shape of the Saddlery a tiny bit, but the function factor makes the Prairie a more useful bag for me. So many awesome features!
First, I really like that she reads as a round-ish bag, but there's a decent bit of straight-ish bottom where heavy rectangular objects (like phones) can reside without leaving unsightly dents in the curvature, something that has always put me off the Watson or the Mini Bag (@CPSE Is this a valid concern?)

Second, the front pocket is more of a compartment in its own right and offers a ton of space and organisation. I added an unsolicited WIMB because I feel like 50% of my posts are questions about the capacity of a certain style and I want to give back. The Prairie holds all the crap pictured and then some, and if I rearrange a little she could hold either a small umbrella, scarf, or pair of gloves as well. She fits almost as much as my Manor, and with the same magical packs-small-plays-big quality. Those of you who deem the Prairie too small for every day - what the kitchen sink are you carrying on a day-to-day basis?

Third, she's a joy to carry. She's pretty short side-to-side, so she doesn't stick out weird and gets in the way of my swinging arm (I usually wear my crossbodies in the front). She's rather fat front-to-back but doesn't really have any corners, just curves, so nothing gets in the way.

I have two gripes with her. Square D-rings. Why are they? It's all great for shoulder carry when everything hangs neat and parallel, but crossbody wear with square D-rings will put stress on the little strap loops over time. I hate them, lol.
Also, the Prairie was never made in Currant. What were they thinking.
The end! Here's my bag and contents.

Awesome! I love these kinds of thorough descriptions of how a bag fills and hangs. Thanks for sharing!
