Are there made in nyc bags that have the style number on them like they started using after 94/95?
No, the only ones are the very few examples from the original NYC plant with an "A" plant code, which was in the process of shutting down production after 1994 except for emergency orders and samples. There have been fakes with A plant codes too, and sometimes the codes in the prefix would get scrambled up. It's always a good idea to have A plant bags authenticated. None of the bags with Made in NYC stamps should have style numbers as part of the serial number. From the details I've found, the NYC stamp was retired in early 1988.
I figured it was too good to be true. Thank you for confirming![]()
If there's a bag you have or are looking at that you think might be fake, why not post it at the Authenticate thread? If nothing else, we can confirm it and add another photo or two to our collections. After all, there's about one chance in 10,000 that a genuine pre-style number "Made in NYC" bag might happen to have the bag's actual correct style number.

I never bought into changing your style according to season. I wear jewel tones and warm glowy autumnal colors year-round. I tend to wear bigger bags in summer because German summers are unreliable and I like carrying an umbrella, water bottle, need my sunglasses and a full pack of tissues due to allergies. Its also nice to be able to put away an additional scarf or thin cardigan.Which of your vintage Coach bags do you feel like are summer bags?
