But more of the US can mean so many different things! I'd be thrilled to have sooo much to discover in my own country!

That is funny, we both see adventure going to the other’s home :). I would love to visit that lake you posted a pic of (and see more of Germany when not freezing my butt off) and could go for some more (forgive my spelling of this) flammekuchen (the flat bread). I also want to go back to Italy (no matter what they say is gelato in the US, it isn’t) and stay on the Amalfi Coast, see Capri, Venice and the lakes, go back to Spain Where I am not illiterate like in Italy and Germany lol. My Spanish speaking is rusty, but I can read it ok. Although most Europeans speak English better than anything I would attempt in their native language.

I'm comfortable traveling the U.S. alone but I don't think I could handle an international trip by myself. My sister did a 6-week European cruise for her honeymoon and maybe I could do something like that with a structured itinerary and guaranteed transportation. They went to Italy and Greece, among many other places that I just can't remember.

I can't believe I forgot this but I went on a Caribbean cruise a few years ago and we went to Belize, Honduras, and Mexico. I got to hold a capuchin monkey on the beach in Honduras! I wasn't alone then but yeah, I think I could do a cruise by myself if I had to. I know the experience isn't the same and the port cities are owned by the cruise lines in most cases but it's still an adventure. We took a taxi all over Honduras just to see as much as we could. It was so beautiful!

My first solo trip was a cruise of the Mediterranean With 2 nights on land in Barcelona. The ship gave me confidence because I knew when and where to be, they all spoke English and I knew I wasn’t accidentally going to order octopus or something. Long story short, I was supposed to go with “friends” who never booked and then the travel agent didn’t contact me that my group hadn’t booked and put mine through so it was go or lose all that money. Temper got me to the airport, but the closer I got to it, the more scared I got. But I had a wonderful time! I was so glad I went. Saw Spain, Italy and France.

I did a few cruises by myself. It is one of the easiest ways to travel by yourself. If you are willing, they will give you a roommate for a reduced rate on the cabin.
I hate that they charge you double to be a single. I only eat one person worth of food. I did a river cruise 4 years ago in Germany and they didn’t charge me double, there was an extra fee though.

Speaking of not being able to let go of bags, I wore my purple sling (9929) for the first time the other day and when I wear it crossbody style I feel like a golf caddy. But in defense of the pretty sling, a very fancy golf caddy. Either that, or I kept feeling like I could reach back and grab an arrow for my bow, Legolas-style. I can’t see myself using it as much as I thought I would... but I can’t let go of it.
Lol! I got rid of mine for this same reason. Also I will never carry enough to not have things fall waaaaay to the bottom.

I had a city bag, it was really nice but too big for me as I don’t carry much so I sold it. I got a convertible clutch instead and I think its the perfect alternative to the city bag for me because its not as big. Its hard to let the bags I don’t use go lol, I wish I could keep them all!
Yes, the City is a lot bigger in person than it looks in photos! The convertible clutch is nice, too.

You should try ordering octopus on purpose! One of my favorite travel anecdotes is from when I was visiting Greece with my dad. We had a little inflatable boat and were snorkeling and diving for pretty seashells. A Greek snorkeling fisherman came swimming to our boat, looked at the pretty shells and laughed his butt of. He signaled us to wait, disappeared and returned five minutes later with two freshly harpooned octupus (unsure of plural). We had no idea what to do with them and handed them over to our hostess who turned them into a delicious eggplant-and-octopus salad and we had a spontaneous Greek dinner party with her. It was glorious!

Well, it's a big bag and takes up closet space, but... "That still only counts as one!"

I traveled alone many times outside of the U.S. and I had so much fun! It's so great traveling alone. Those days are over now.

Speaking of travel, I have shoe excitement today. My “park shoe” for Disney and any warm destination trip with a lot of walking are Fitflops, which have sadly seen a decline in quality, change in sizing and A higher price since I got my first pair. I 5 pairs that are park worthy but the oldest is pretty tired. I found a brand new pair on ebay though they are several years out of date. Whoo hoo!

same with my vibram 5 fingers (those ugly toe shoes people hate haha). Had an older pair that I loved for running and lifting and hiking but the quality went down the toilet over the years and the price went up. I found the exact pair I purchased in a different colour on Ebay brand new last year. I was so happy haha.

Ive been to mexico too! Its one of my most memorable trips ever. All of my cousins and I went alone, we would go do tourist stuff during the day and then go to the resort restaurants to have dinner and get drunk. We’d end the night playing Cards Against Humanity. It was honestly such a fun trip- to have so many people close in age all together having fun. Over the years we’ve all ventured off on different paths so were not close anymore (some have kids, got married etc).

eta: Im like you in your previous post, I can’t get anyone to grab a drink even if Im paying. Everyone is busy being a parent or working. I don’t take it personally but I sometimes miss my late teens/early 20s when I did nothing but go out and have fun lol.
That sounds like so much fun!!

I did not know what I was going to do when the replacement pair I bought online was so awful and a couple of my trusty pairs were showing their age and miles (I walked 70 miles total my last Disney trip). It took me years to find a shoe that worked with my flat feet under such conditions. Plus they are my exercise walking shoe in summer.
