So Im sure everyone who actively views this thread is probably aware that Ive been looking for a green pocket purse and/or dinky bag. Well, a few weeks ago, one became available so I bought it! The seller is a member of TPF so if they see this: thank you!! Im so happy I have a green pocket purse now! :hugs:
It’s definitely on the darker side but it does look green in real life. It was pretty hard to capture on camera because my pictures keep making it look black. The first pic has my black pocket purse for comparison:

I love this story! I felt this way about my red Saddlery. I never carry her because she's smaller than what I normally need but one day on a whim I tossed only my wallet, keys and phone in her and took her with me. I fell in love all over again! I was extra careful when I rehabbed her because she was so beautiful and her leather so soft and seemingly delicate but her NYC creed dating her at least 30 years old proves that she is only a delicate looking work horse bag. She went from my sale pile to my keep pile in one day trip!

Also, I'm jealous of your travels. I wish I had the means to travel Europe and a companion with which to travel. All my friends/family have young kids now and it's nearly impossible to get them to go out for drinks even if I offer to pay, let alone get them to travel with me! I've been to Austria, but that's it. I bought the cutest little handmade cuckoo clock that I lost years ago.
I have done solo travel for about 10 years. First time was the result of bad friends and a travel agent who was either an idiot or commission hungry but it worked out. I won’t say there aren’t some timid moments or drawbacks vs going with someone (like cramming a suitcase in a bathroom stall) but I love it!

Selling a red Saddlery would have been blasphemy!

It's easy to travel Europe when you're already here. Everything is small, nothing is really far away, I don't even need my passport and most places share the same currency. Before Covid, people just hopped on a plane to Spain for a long weekend, and from where my dad lives its a three-hour direct train ride to Paris. For me going to the US is not something I could just do, it would require serious moneys, time and planning. You guys can travel half a continent without even leaving your country!
Last year I discovered the joys of short trips within a four-hour drive range. I never left the country but explored some nice places close to me on the cheap, and found out that you don't always have to go far to have an adventure.
It sucks about the lack of travel companion though. I have traveled by myself and I'm not scared or anything, but it's always nice to share your impressions with someone else. Those small kids around you will grow up fast though!
But you can go to so many cool places, no passport and in just a few hours. A few hours from me is either more of the US or the Atlantic ocean. Although I have been on a Disney kick recently. 2.5 hours by plane

envious of that...apart from Australia its a huge flight to get anywhere from New Zealand Its least a 12h flight to get halfway to Europe. When I was supposed to go to Italy it was an 18 hour flight just to get to Qatar

I’m carrying my Kent bag again this week and it easily fits what I need on a daily basis. I really have streamlined what I carry around, even downsizing to a smaller wallet. Here’s what fits inside (wallet, keys and pouch), in addition to my iPhone 6+, which fits easily into either the inside front or outside back pockets. I’ve thought about going to the Shelton, the Kent’s bigger brother, since I like the style so much. The Lenox looks nice, too.

I bought that bunny wallet last month. I haven't used it yet.

When I was single I traveled alone several times. I ended up meeting so many nice people, some of whom I stayed in contact with. It was really fun. I never worried about being in danger.

I'm comfortable traveling the U.S. alone but I don't think I could handle an international trip by myself. My sister did a 6-week European cruise for her honeymoon and maybe I could do something like that with a structured itinerary and guaranteed transportation. They went to Italy and Greece, among many other places that I just can't remember.

I can't believe I forgot this but I went on a Caribbean cruise a few years ago and we went to Belize, Honduras, and Mexico. I got to hold a capuchin monkey on the beach in Honduras! I wasn't alone then but yeah, I think I could do a cruise by myself if I had to. I know the experience isn't the same and the port cities are owned by the cruise lines in most cases but it's still an adventure. We took a taxi all over Honduras just to see as much as we could. It was so beautiful!

When was that? I think you mentioned somewhere here that you were retired, so based on that I'm assuming it was some time ago.
I have major envy towards folks who could travel in the 60s, 70s and 80s. It must have been so cool to travel the hippie trail. Imagine hitchhiking through Afghanistan and feeling safe while doing so, or actually going from Gaza to Beirut by train! I really hope those regions become safe to travel again within my lifetime.

I did a few cruises by myself. It is one of the easiest ways to travel by yourself. If you are willing, they will give you a roommate for a reduced rate on the cabin.

Ive been to mexico too! Its one of my most memorable trips ever. All of my cousins and I went alone, we would go do tourist stuff during the day and then go to the resort restaurants to have dinner and get drunk. We’d end the night playing Cards Against Humanity. It was honestly such a fun trip- to have so many people close in age all together having fun. Over the years we’ve all ventured off on different paths so were not close anymore (some have kids, got married etc).

eta: Im like you in your previous post, I can’t get anyone to grab a drink even if Im paying. Everyone is busy being a parent or working. I don’t take it personally but I sometimes miss my late teens/early 20s when I did nothing but go out and have fun lol.

It was a long time ago, in the 80s. I never hitchhiked. It was dangerous back then. I think some of things I did when I was young I wouldn't attempt now, even if conditions were the same. We retired early so I've been retired a long time although I haven't quite reached retirement age.
