I hate offers when it is something I really want. I'm afraid someone else will get it before me. I like BINs the best.

Ill send an offer thats like 10% off asking and then torture myself for not just hitting BIN if the seller doesn’t accept or counter lol. I feel weird hitting BIN when theres still an active offer going but Ive done it when Ive desperately wanted a bag that I was afraid would get sold haha

I've done it more than once. I did it with my super rare Bonnie Cashin flap bag. I made an offer and after about 5 minutes I couldn't take the chance I would lose it so I just did the BIN. I wonder what the seller thought. But I only paid $61 and one recently sold for $652, so I don't regret it at all.

Have we seen that one?....(hint hint nudge nudge wink wink!)

I missed out on another gorgeous bag because I was trying to be responsible. I wanted to purchase a mahogany original Rambler on Etsy but I haven't paid off my Pony Express yet, so I waited. Now the Rambler is reserved for someone else. It's usually my policy that if I can't pay for a bag with money leftover from my paycheck - never my savings - then I can't afford it so I will wait until I have the money saved up. My Pony was an exception of course, you never see them under $500 so I had to go for it. So if anyone sees a mahogany Rambler, please let me know! I've been carrying my saddle Rambler to work all week and it's awesome!!! It's my new favorite work bag. I wish they weren't so expensive though, I would like to add different colors to my collection since this is a style that works perfectly for me.

I feel you on the responsibility. I have my eye on a few bags right now but Im also trying to hold off until I recoup some of my more recent purchases. You told me a few weeks back when I missed out on a listing that another one would come along and the wait would make it that much better, so I return the advice right back to you haha! Ill keep an eye out for your mahogany rambler, hopefully you find one soon :)

It's so easy to get out of control and accrue debt with this hobby so I think being responsible is so important, even though it's hard. It's easy to say "what's another $50?" but that adds up so quickly. Thanks for the solid advice, ha ha!!! We're right, another will come along. The trick these days seems to be getting bags before resellers do. There's a navy original Rambler on Etsy and I thought about it but I'm really not a fan of navy. I'm just going to have to squirrel away my pennies and be ready for the next opportunity.

Theres a seller on Posh who buys horrible condition bags off ebay and then sells them for $120-$150 on posh without rehabbing them and calls it “vintage distress”. It makes my blood boil sometimes because I put a lot of effort into making sure if someone is getting a bag I rehabbed, its in the best possible condition I could have made it. Resellers are something else sometimes :annoyed: Definitely hold out for a mahogany one, its tempting to buy whatever colour is available but if you get the navy in a moment of fomo and then a mahogany one pops up, you’ll be hit with the regret train lol!

Well, responsibility went right out the window. I contacted the Etsy seller of the mahogany Rambler to say I was interested in the bag if the buyer backed out. The buyer had backed out yesterday but the listing had not yet been updated! Omg! I now have a mahogany original Rambler on the way!!!!!!!!
It pays to be proactive. Congrats!
