So I was expecting a certain bag to come in the mail today but the tracking showed its still on a truck somewhere so I don’t think Ill see it until tomorrow or Monday :( In the meantime, I received my British Tan pocket purse today but Im wondering- is this even british tan? Maybe because its my first BT colour, but it looks a little dark brown to me? Or do my eyes deceive me? Regardless, I hope this bag rehabs well!

Looks BT to me!

Yay! I was hoping it was BT
BT seemed much darker than I first expected too. For a while I refused to use Black Rocks on mine because they were the color I wanted when I bought them, dagnabit, so that's the color they were going to stay! Which was a tad lighter and actually a faded, dried out BT. But I eventually I came around to want my flaps to match the parts under the flaps, plus I want the leather to be nice and supple, so I go ahead and make them a little darker to the tan they are supposed to be.

British tan varied over the years.

I've lived in the Middle East and I've lived in Arizona. Both have similar climates but I feel that in the Middle East they have adapted their lifestyle to the climate. In Arizona, they act like they do in the rest of the US, trying to do regular business activities during the day. In the Middle East, everyone goes home to rest in the middle of the day when it is super hot. It's probably different now that there is more air conditioning.

Where we live now in the US, we have super hot summers and mild winters, but it is still too cold for me sometimes. DH hates the heat. He grew up in the place with the most perfect climate in the world, San Diego.
Very off topic, but where in the Middle East have you lived?

All finished whipstitching. I have to clean up the hardware a bit and then she is ready to rock and roll. Just in time for "green phase" here in Central PA. [I'm not running out to anywhere crowded...just happy to go back to work. Not a fan of crowds anyway!]

Ps. That is the elder of my two fuzzy loves at my feet. He is my constant shadow

I think a tutorial is needed on whipstitching....because that is seriously cool.

she seems a bit thin compared to my older pocket purse which has a much thicker leather and the hardware isn’t as heavy as some of my older bags, but I think it’ll be a good thing cause my upper back starts to ache with how thin all these coach straps are. The colour seems even but there are some stains- I hope rehabbing her won’t make them more prominent- fingers crossed she turns out great
