There are a lot of fake LV bags for sale, so yes, Vestiaire does approve fake bags for their site to sell. The first “authentication” is based on photos. I don’t understand though how the pictures of obviously fake bags pass their examination.

Respectfully disagree, I believe Vestiaire would ask for receipts to prove purchases / source before even allowing posting some if not all high prices / designer items. Unless super fakes or at least great fakes, I don't see how obvious fakes can be listed if under brand names such as LV.There are a lot of fake LV bags for sale, so yes, Vestiaire does approve fake bags for their site to sell. Seller ignored me since monday. Just annoying because I really try to avoid VC because when sellers stop replying and in this case, I only found these models on VC, its just plain stress. They do have 5-7 days to post. Ghosting could just be ignoring ie can’t be bothered. It’s annoying but 🤷♀️ keep on top of it though 🤞
They do sell fakes, there have been many times over the years that people comment items as fakes or add red flags on the comment sections, as they are so obvious fakes that many people recognise them as such. Maybe the items don’t pass the actual authentication, but if the buyer buys with direct shipping, there isn’t any.Respectfully disagree, I believe Vestiaire would ask for receipts to prove purchases / source before even allowing posting some if not all high prices / designer items. and to be fair, I don't believe any of legit selling platforms would intentionally promot selling fakes.
I’ve just received my PayPal case decision…..They (VC) sold me, in my opinion, a counterfeit nylon Mulberry Softie. Upon raising my concerns they were having none of it, rude and simply ignoring me. However I wouldn’t let it go because they would not, likely could not, explain the obvious discrepancies between my bag and others I’d found for sale via both themselves and the internet. The bag did not have the word ‘Mulberry’ anywhere on it for a start. I opened a PayPal case and VC eventually took it back for review, decided it was authentic and within 24hrs, without my permission, had sold it on!They do sell fakes, there have been many times over the years that people comment items as fakes or add red flags on the comment sections, as they are so obvious fakes that many people recognise them as such. I have bought many times from Vestiaire and I have good and bad experiences with them, mostly good, but definitely some obvious fakes pass their photo check.
Edit. I have to say though, that I think previously there were even more of them, so maybe they have improved on that area.
To my understanding they authenticate on request before delivery and this bag is on offer but not authenticated yet. Yes, there are several fakes on VC and I also reported some. They were deleted within a day but sometimes reappeared again. All in all my experience is ok with them. Not sure what’s happening here but this is extremely low quality fake with major inaccuracies. And it passed the verification. Vestiaire has zero interest in their reputation.

No, they ‘authenticate’ to a degree before listing. That’s the irony of my situation which I pointed out to them. They listed, I bought, went to sell and they said ‘hey, we need x y and z before we will list. Couldn’t find on my bag what they wanted so that aroused my suspicion and led me to this whole PayPal thing. So a VERY mixed experience. My main issue is they act like they are ‘god’. What they say is final without explanation or question. I just asked them to evidence their decision. They couldn’t. That’s simple arrogance in my opinion. FYI, Never EVER chose Direct Shipping. You have less rights than EBay.To my understanding they authenticate on request before delivery and this bag is on offer but not authenticated yet. I agree. There are bargains and great items to be had most definitely. I left after 10 years and multiple purchases and sales as their customer service became defensive, passive aggressive and most recently ‘unchallengeable’. My advice? Know your brand and never take direct shipping unless you are 100% content with item via pictures.I am surprised by people's bad experiences with Vestiaire.
I recently purchased a Celine Trio, and it was such a good deal. The bag was listed as "Fair condition," but once I received it, I believed it was still in "Good Condition."
Would shop for more bargains because they usually provide Coupons.
It’s an automated thing so likely yes. I’m in the UK and after we left the EU every purchase was around £30 extra. One thing, I think authentication which is chargeable is included in your shipping charge when you ‘import’ but if it is it will say in the charges section before you checkout?Hi, I know there has been alot of changes in legislation around sales tax, so forgive me if this is a dumb question. I am in the U.S. and wanting to buy something from Europe, and VC is charging both imports/customs and sales tax. Is this correct?
This is correct. The US is charging the sales tax and customs is charging the import tax. If you present in person to certain countries you can file for a local tax refund, but when you buy something through eBay or Vestiaire (sites thay have USA presence as well as international will charge you for local sales tax according to your zip code) and customs when it is physically coming into to the country from another country. You will not pay additional customs fees when it gets to customs and it goes through automatically (where if you buy on eBay - not through global shipping- you pay customs when it gets to customs). Vestiaire and I believe also Ebay global shipping both charge a customs fee + shipping service (eg FEDEX) brokerage fee, so you don’t have any more to pay and it sails through customs without a hitch in 99.9% of cases. If I buy some thing on eBay that actually goes through customs normally, the fee may be slightly lower, but it always sits in customs for days to a week, they always need additional paperwork from me which takes quite a long time to fill out, they require a lot of personal information from me, they often require very detailed information about the item that I may not have, like the species of Origin, where it was harvested etc. In that case, I will need to wait on hold with customs and FedEx for so long and fill out so many forms, always with the pressing threat that it will be sent back if I don’t get them all of the information in time, so I think it’s OK to use Vestiaire and pay a slightly higher amount to have it facilitated through customs by the shipper.Hi, I know there has been alot of changes in legislation around sales tax, so forgive me if this is a dumb question.
