Vestiaire Collective experiences?

To be honest I am not so worried about the sellers (you will get scam artists on all selling platforms), its the Vestiaire authentication team and their lack of training that worries me. Vestiaire used to be great at rectifying issues but not anymore. Look at the lady dior i recently purchased. Complete loss of structure. Not able to stand upright. No mention in description and the Vestiaire team failed to identify this as an issue

Oh no…

You poor thing..

I’ve taken the piece off my jewellery wishlist after all of the horror stories as the seller has actually listedthe same piece twice, in the U.K. and Spain, but it’s the identical piece.they’re a con artist..I don’t want to get burnt..

Sometimes there are listings in multiple locations if the seller can ship from more than one place (people are more likely to buy without customs fees), but I agree that it sounds like there are multiple red flags here.

Yes, the piece has been resold several times over the last 3 years, now is for sale from apparently 2 sellers from 2 locations but I’d the same piece but is listed regularly for auction and appeared to sell at auction in Jan-for less than I’d have paid for it, but the listing continued despite the “sale” ..it doesn’t make sense…the diamond business is based on trust..I said I’d buy it…millions of dollars of stones change hands without paperwork daily on a handshake , I worked in diamonds..I do not trust the seller abd do not feel comfortable although I want to own the piece, I’d rather buy from my own contacts…

Good thing you were on the lookout and watching it elsewhere! You saved yourself stress and discomfort by being such an educated buyer.

Stress, discomfort and quite a lot of money!

Which could go towards another piece of jewellery…as I have a feeling that if it did go wrong, I’d have a big problem getting the money back..

The help and experience of other PF members has also convinced me..

I'm so mad!!! i had sold a brand new pair of Christian Louboutin in box ($1,400) on 4/6/23 and I never received any email or alert that I sold them. I have never received any emails from Vestiaire since I moved some of my items over from Tradesy. Of course they cancelled the saled on 4/10/23 because I never shipped them. How can I ship them when I never knew they sold. I just wasted an hour chatting with a stupid CS rep. I asked her to see why I'm not getting any emails from VC and if she can relist them or notify the buyer. They will not let me know who the buyer was(so now I can't message her and say I was so sorry) I will have to relist them. I'm not sure if I will, because it takes forever to list and then I never get email alerts. Is anyone else having issues getting alerts? Any other places to sell besides VC, Fleabay, PM, Mercai?

Is there a list somewhere of dodgy sellers? I wish Vestiaire had seller reviews like eBay. There's one seller in Bulgaria that has a fair amount of rare items (including a bag I want!) and I can't tell if they're a flipper (fine..) or fakes. They've sold over 300 items but there's no way to know if the buyers were satisfied.

What is the sellers name? I'll have a look

Strange one. They aren't professional sellers even though they have a massive amount of stock. Particularly Celine. Not sure what the story is with them. Where are they getting all this stock in new condition

Right? And the same item in the same colour multiple times like that ombre Loewe puzzle. It could be someone who has a business flipping items they buy online straight from the designer, but it seems odd.

Hello everyone, as anyone had any luck getting a compensation/ partial refund from VC? if so, how? I received an item that was damaged (and of course yet again failed to be seen by their authentification team) and didn't fit the description of the seller. I still like the piece but I wouldn't have paid this price if this defect was mentioned. They proposed only to send it back or a "courtesy 10% off code" valid fo a month... which I dismissed, what a joke! any advice? :confused1:

Yes they only offer a 10% discount as a voucher code now. Send it back and get refund if the item was not as described. I had to fight my case through PayPal and they have agreed to refund the total amount. They are getting so difficult to deal with.
