Guys, can someone explain to me why some buyers send messages asking if I would accept a certain price offer instead of just making an offer? The items they message about are open for making offers. What’s the logic behind this?

Okay, I think I got it myself: they do it when trying to buy for a ridiculously low price under the lowest possible offer
Yes it only lets you send offers as low as 70% of the current listed price

Has anyone every purchased an item from vestiare that they deem not authentic? I am completely sure this item is authentic, they have cancelled my order and refunded me. They said if the owner can prove it is authentic it will be relisted. I have asked them if they will allow me first option to buy but they have not said anything. I am confused this has never happened before. TIA:flowers:

I just got a Chanel Bag from Vestiaire. I am pretty sure the chain is not original. The links where it joins the bag do not meet neatly and look to have been clamped on. They also don't have a lot of weight to them. The bag is genuine I would say just the chain but I feel this should have been noted on the description (at least the fact that it isn't attached properly) I have raised it on Vestiaire but had no response as yet.

It looks like the seller bought it a couple of months ago and resold it quite quickly. Not sure if they removed the chain or not but I can see the images are the same as the original listing.

I am not sure what I can do from here if anything or if I have to just accept it.
This is exactly my situation at the minute. Authentic Chanel bag but the chain is clearly fake. See photo. All Chanel chains of this sort have a flat surface on each link but this one doesn't. Also looks like it has been (badly) replated! I send the bag back for a second review by VC authentication team but they refused to accept that they made a mistake and sent the bag back to me. I now have to open a dispute on PayPal.

Vestaire collective needs to up its standards. I bought a Dior mini Boston from a trusted seller. I noticed the Christian Dior is missing underneath the zip. This raised a red flag for me being either fake or replaced during its life but not disclosed. The item was also listed as being the black version and it was clearly the navy blue version on the photos but I wasn’t too bothered by the colour. What wasn’t listed was the stench of stale perfume. It wasn’t mild, it was really bad.

I sent it back listing my reasons why. I was soon refunded. However this morning an email regarding their findings on the bag has come through. They say it is up to brand standards. Nothing about the zip, colour or odour were mentioned just that it passed the checks. It’s going back on sale. Meanwhile the lovely Averagejoe authenticated another for me off eBay and it arrived from Japan yesterday. It’s in good shape for being 21, is the right colour and doesn’t smell to high heaven! I would think twice about purchasing from VC.

Your whole experience , and many others, are very worrying..I have been considering some very high end jewellery-all of my jewellery has been bought new to date…-on Vestiaire , one piece I see regularly listed for auction , which I queried with the seller but they ignored..the piece has passed hands on various platforms 3 or 4 times already…I’m not sure why I’m still pursuing it..it’s a serious amount of money to lose…(5 figures), but I haven’t given up yet…I wish I could forget about it..I’m scared of having a very bad experience ..

The shopping experience is very frustrating. You are ignored by so many sellers if you need to ask questions, see more photos. My only advice is to perhaps take the piece to a jeweller to look at it & lodge a complaint within 72 hrs if needed if you purchase it.

It’s such a shame the way it’s run and the lack of customer service. It could be a great site & experience if they had higher standards & properly weeded out fakes.

From what I’ve heard returns are very hard-I don’t need it authenticated..I can do that lol, it’s whether I’d actually receive it at All!
The seller is selling it outside Vestiaire as well..the whole thing looks dodgy..

I am in the exact same situation with one bag (chain not authentic but they are refusing to acknowledge it) and also another bag (Lady Dior) on its way back to them for a second review because its completely deformed and the hardware securing the handle is broken). They used to be really good and offer a refund in these situations but they have recently got so so ridiculous and refuse to acknowledge ridiculous oversights on their part.

Omg from the above experiences I’m feeling like that-especially as in one auction it looks like the piece was sold in January, but when I questioned the seller they didn’t reply..I gave Very bad vibes…

Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
There must be high end jewellery re sellers with a good rep out there somewhere? If you find one, maybe they can source the piece for you?

To be honest I am not so worried about the sellers (you will get scam artists on all selling platforms), its the Vestiaire authentication team and their lack of training that worries me. Vestiaire used to be great at rectifying issues but not anymore. Look at the lady dior i recently purchased. Complete loss of structure. Not able to stand upright. No mention in description and the Vestiaire team failed to identify this as an issue
