Vestiaire Collective experiences?

They actually sent an email out last year saying they’ll be implementing a new rating system where stars or smth will be tagged to sellers and buyers but it never came to fruition (got swept under the carpet I think).

As for what happens to those sellers - their stats get penalised. One way to prevent that is to message the seller before making the purchase (I know, what’s the point right? But it is wad it is)
I recall some sort of email as well... I sell and purchase across a few different secondhand sites and it feels like I have a much higher "miss" rate with VC. Perhaps just my luck, but checking for the badges or if the seller has a bunch of items sold has not been that helpful.

So finally, how did it work in the end ?
Have you been paid for the shoes ?
In my case I have finally been paid for my sale, after needing help from the support team via the chat (worked very well, got an answer quickly with a true person and my money came the next day)
I got paid as well! Wrote about it on the previous page:
I got paid the following day! The status of the delivery changed to “Canceled” on VC’s timeline (see the attached photo). I guess that’s a workaround for when the shipper wouldn’t update the delivery status on their website.

Here's what's weird though I can't purchase from France --> USA but the listing says it won't ship. However the same item (twice the price) I could purchase from UK --> USA. Which makes no sense to me. Has anyone encountered this and are there any shipping work arounds?

Sometimes it depends on how Vestiaire or the seller categorizes the item. If it is categorized as sheepskin, shearling or of course any exotic leather, it cannot be shipped. Also MOP jewelry sometimes gets flagged as Pearl, which they categorize as not shippable (=customs would not allow through). We know this is not necessarily true, but that is what is going on with the shipping limitations.

Is there any way to leave feedback for a seller on VC? I don't see feedback anywhere. What happens if a seller sells you something, never ships it, and then VC gives you your money back? They just keep on doing this?
I had a similar issue. My first purchases on VC (post-Tradesy) were for three items from three different sellers. One canceled the next day, another canceled over a week later. VC offers a $30? discount on my next purchase as an apology, but when I tried to use that it was nonexistent. The third item actually shipped and is fine, but I'm done with the site.

I purchased something Europe. It got cancelled that day and the seller listed it again the next day. I purchased an item this morning from Europe and it got cancelled right away. I made two offers to get a discount on it but I got declined, so I just bought it at full price. Odd they didn’t say it was sold.

VC is currently giving me a headache with their robotic copy/paste answers. They treat us with such contempt - they must really hate us. I won't bore anyone here with the details but long story short, their "communication" and laughable "chat" function is appalling. They really need to pull themselves together. Surely another business can do this better?! Maybe I should start something?

I will say however, that this exercise of selling and detoxing my wardrobe, has really opened my eyes to buying anything at all. Knowing how much time one needs to invest in the listing, pictures and descriptions etc, negotiating with potential buyers, the anxiety that goes with shipping stuff out keeping fingers crossed that it delivers correctly, then praying and hoping nothing is damaged, then the prospect of being punished by Vestiaire with their lack of "communication" ... I could go on.... it has made me think not twice, but a million times about dropping money on bags, shoes and clothes. It's stopped me from purchasing things I like and only going for things I LOVE and know has longevity. Simply because with anything trendy, it's inevitable I will get bored, and I want to avoid being panicked about how to get it out of my wardrobe without making a huge loss. I used to be SO frivolous with my earnings (hence the de-clutter) but that has all changed after this. Moral of the story is: "how badly do you need that new bag (coat, jacket, boot, shoe, dress, knit)?"

I recently purchased a small BV bag through Vestiere. It was first sent to the authenticators where they discovered a very small stain that was not disclosed or visible in the photos. I was offered the opportunity to cancel, which I did and I received the refund 3 days later. I also purchased another bag which was never sent so after a certain number of days I received a refund. So far, service has been great, it’s just the sellers you have to be careful of. I have just listed an item and will see how it goes.

Hello- has anyone listed an item and found that within minutes of it getting up on the site you are inundated with requests from “users” (all of which are listed with a name and series of numbers that are similar) to text additional photos? Even their requests are basically word for word identical. Bots? I’m sure definitely scammers - how are they getting through? Tradesy wasn’t perfect but this site seems abysmal. Thoughts?

Buyers beware when buying things on Vestiare collective. Their authentication service is NOT full proof and sometimes I doubt the capabilities of their authentication team (so only buy it when you can authenticate it yourself). I purchased a bag recently which passed through their authentication but had so many red flags when i inspected it in person. Brought it instore for verification and it failed! Thankfully vestiare refunded me after I wrote in.
From a seller’s perspective, I had my authentic bag (purchased personally from the boutique) fail their authentication and had to pay 12 euros to get my bag back + got penalised in terms of ratings.

I made an order 4 days ago, and the seller was never very responsive. It takes hours to a whole day for her to reply to a simple question (even before I decided to purchase it) and she told me she was going to ship it yesterday but absolutely zero communication since then. I asked for an update and she hasn't read the message. Usually I get pretty good communication with the sellers, but I'm worried after 7 days my purchase will get cancelled... I really want this item as I've been looking for it for years.

I had very good experiences with them but when I went through the concierge service it went wrong.
They once returned my damaged chanel bag to me, sold my items at very low prices and the last one, my new Rolex Datejust 36 watch, never worn, came back to me damaged and used. They recognize that it came back to me damaged and carried use by their employees. They also fired the person in charge of my articles. They offer me 200€ to have the watch polished. I am in justice with them.
