I had an account on both Tradesy and VC. I think I deleted my account on VC a while back. Now that Tradesy has become VC my email and password don't work. I'm told my account doesn't exist. But if I try to register it tells me it does exist. I can't get in under that account no matter what I do.

When negotiating with buyers you should inform them to always set their app to match currency of the seller which in your case is kronor if they’re buying from the EU, during checkout if they use credit card, their bank will use the standard exchange rate not VC’s ridiculously inflated exchange rate. Also watch out too with PayPal if not using bank credit card, always check their box that you’re paying the foreign currency and not their converted rate.

On VC app currency can be changed under your Account/Detail tab. On the website, it’s located all the way towards bottom of website.

You’re right that VC uses 7-10% markup in the name of convenience so you’d have to switch back and forth between currency calculations to let buyers know that your agreed price is such and such in kronor and it’s best if they bought it in kronor.
Thanks for the advice! Yeah, I always pay in foreign currency when buying with PayPal
As far as the buyers is concerned, it still feels quite cumbersome to ask them to do so. Are you sure it wouldn’t be more expensive for them instead if they switch from euros to kronor?

I’m actually overall quite satisfied with Vestiaire, both as a seller and a buyer.

I’m mostly selling and have found myself in quite a situation recently. I sold a pair of shoes about a month ago on Friday and shipped them the following Monday. The package reached the buyer’s DHL access point in Portugal about three weeks ago. But the buyer hasn’t picked it up yet! Is it even possible that DHL wouldn’t send the package back after it hasn’t been picked up for so long? In Sweden it is only a a week!
The weirdest thing is that I can’t even contact the buyer! When I go to a chat with her it says: “*** is no longer able to receive messages” :confused1:
I contacted VC about that of course and they say that they emailed and called the buyer, but she never replied. They say that they will proceed with the payment as soon as the buyer picks the package up! Yeah, well, I know that myself! But I find it strange that the buyer is unreachable and haven’t picked up the package for three weeks!
By the way, she posted some relevant questions about the shoes’ condition and I saw in her profile that she made a sale two days after the shoes had reached her access point!

What can all this mean?? Has any of you been in a similar situation?

Thank you for posting this. I did not know this!

I'm in the same weird situation where the buyer cannot send or receive any message. In my case the package has just been waiting for 3 days which is just normal during the working days, but these kind of situations tend to make me nervous.
Have you tried this: contact your buyer through a sale they are making, this way you could send a message.

After multiple BS emails with Vestiaire asking them to fix my account, they just asked me for a picture ID or passport. Now, all I'm trying to get them to do is get my email out of limbo - "Your email doesn't exist/you already have an account with this email." If they simply let me re-register with my old email they don't need a picture ID. I responded to their request with "No thanks, I can live without it."

I think it means the buyer has buyer’s regret and no longer wants your shoes. If I am not mistaken your package will be returned to you at the 4 week mark after delivery to the pickup point, the sale cancelled and the buyer refunded. I believe they are using a “flaw” in the VC system to their advantage. I am sorry this is happening to you.

You might be right! But is it really four weeks?? As I said above in Sweden an uncollected package is sent back to the sender after one week only. Or is there some special agreement regarding the waiting period between VC and DHL?

The weirdest thing is that today I got a message from VC saying that the package has been finally collected by the buyer and my payment will be issued tomorrow! But as I can see it’s still at the service point and I haven’t got any usual automatic notifications from VC about that! Wtf is going on???

It really depends on the buyers and what their budget tolerance is. It’s a known fact that VC charges a premium on any and all currency conversion, it’s a service of convenience they provide. Buyers save money if they do a bit of work on their own and use a payment method that doesn’t charge international fees. It’s not for every buyer so all you can do as seller is give them options and they can make their own decision.

Recently I had a buyer from Germany who made a purchase in USD once I explained the ins and outs, while another from UK who was unwilling to use her credit card and PP added 75 pounds extra to the transaction so the deal was a no go.

Sold an authentic bag that I purchased personally from the store only for the buyer (direct shipping) to report issues about the bag. Got sent back to vestiare for authentication and they had the gall to cancel my sale and declared my item inauthentic. Showed them the receipt and still insisted it was inauthentic. This is beyond. I purchased it from the store myself omg! Now I’m out of my money, got penalised on my stats and am asked to pay 12 euros to get my item back WTH!!

Who are they hiring as their “expert” authenticator?? This is a nightmare.

This is always my fear with any site's authentication service.

I’m so infuriated about this. Lots of back and forth with me trying to proof the authenticity (receipt, photos, credit card statement, purchase history from store) and all I got was something along the lines of “thank you for the proof of purchase. Please send money, email us and we’ll send the item back to you”.

Tone deaf much? Like shut up vestiare omg
