Perfect, thank you J!m! You had me at chocolate! I can’t wait to connect with him once the world becomes more normal again. I have Mother’s Day, a birthday and an anniversary over the next three months and my husband has been asking me what I would like. I think I want the Guilloche pendant and the YG Frivole earrings (may need to reach out via a separate post about size and pave vs no pave). While I like the Guilloche earrings, they may be too blingy for everyday and I like the idea of not being so matchy matchy. Thanks again for the contact info!
Hello PF2010, they had me on my first visit instore with unlimited amounts of champagne and chocolates and tons of attention and kindness. It's nice when you are still being spoiled months and years after a purchase. Your choices sounds wonderful. Please actually go into a boutique to try it on and see what it looks like on you first... once things become normal again of course.
"J!m"

Are you by chance in near C (hate to say actual city)? I was sad to see that VCA close in NM, too. However, I think it's best to buy from a boutique since they keep a record of what you own for future repair or replacement purposes.
You are correct. They had a pretty decent size area as well. It would’ve been nice to be able to see some of the pieces in person.

I know where you are talking about and I was surprised to see that one gone too. Had bought from there back around 2010 and now it's gone. I remember it being Cartier in that space of that NM before VCA came around 2009-2010 or so.

Speaking of NM, you bring up a good point... NM is near bankruptcy, they will probably pull out of it or some group will buy them out, but I would hate for VCA to pull out of NM. It would not surprise me though, like how Chanel pulled out of most Saks stores.

Buying from a boutique is probably the best long term to keep your pieces on file.

Thanks for that thought!

I love my SA, melissa, from Las Vegas city center store. I don't think she can access the store right now, but she's been with VCA a long time and has a lot of knowledge. She would never mislead or pressure anyone, I really like her

Pros
You get in circle pointS. You can use NM return policy.

Cons.
Your purchase history at NM is not visible to VCA boutiques. Never really a problem because you have your purchase receipt. But you don’t get the boutique experience Or to build a relationship with a boutique SA who can help you get special orders

VCA @ NM has the same experience if not better than the boutique, they always help and can get just about any piece you might like even if NM didn’t buy it! After service is impeccable if you need cleaning or extension and so on!
I don’t feel purchase history at VCA should award better service in opinion, it’s all about finding a sales person who understands and recommends pieces as you go!
I think NM will come out stronger after the filing :)

A few years back I purchased a 5 motif Alhambra Malachite bracelet from Neiman Marcus. It was in a bracelet box and they placed it in a regular NM bag. I never even got a thank you from the sales associate.
Recently, I purchased a much less expensive Sweet Alhambra bracelet online from VCA. It arrived in exquisite packaging...just beautiful! Shortly after, I received a beautiful book from VCA in the mail. I felt much more appreciated as a customer. From now on I'm making all my purchases online or in a boutique if I'm in a city where a boutique exists.

I guess the advantage is that you can use NM gift card? For my local NM VCA store the stock is quite limited though.
I was wondering if NM VCA stores provide service to vca pieces purchased from VCA website? Giving the covid situation I might just purchase online as NM is closed.

When I purchased my 5-motif Alhambra bracelet, it need a few links removed for me to wear it comfortably. The NM associate sent it off to the VCA in New York where the work was done, then it was returned back to NM where I picked it up. So they will service items you buy in the NM VCA boutique.
