If anyone knows if this can be done I would love to know, though with the sapphire butterflies. Otherwise option is to buy both sets and have 4 options!@chacci1 I believe somebody mentioned that you can always ask for a single butterfly earring if you already own a pair… since turquoise and lapis both have YG pave as second earring maybe you can ask for a single lapis earring? Then you basically have the both![]()
I was able to order a single lapis butterfly shortly after purchasing the lapis set in 2019. I was told at the time, that ordering a single earring that matched either side of the pair was possible with HQ approval, so I would assume it would be the same with a sapphire set. I'm just not sure if they allow an order of a third butterfly that is not part of the "original" set.If anyone knows if this can be done I would love to know, though with the sapphire butterflies. Thanks - good to know you can order one of same set. Do you recall how the single lapis butterfly was priced compared to set? Not that it matters for decision but curious. I am thinking of getting pink sapphire set and buying single yellow sapphire. Not sure that will be allowed. What did you decide? You are so right!! I knew I could get lapis when I asked for it a few months ago, but I haven’t inquired about it since. This is actually the first question I’m going to ask tomorrow and then go from there depending on the answer!
They had set prices depending on which butterfly combo was ordered but they total to match the price of the pair. In this case, the lapis set was $20,300. The price of the single lapis was quoted at $8950 and the single yellow gold/diamond was $11,350. I would imagine that a single sapphire would be slightly less than half of the cost of a total set, since the diamond butterfly would be priced higher. Thanks - good to know you can order one of same set. Out of curiosity do you wear the 2 lapis together more than the lapis pave? They had set prices depending on which butterfly combo was ordered but they total to match the price of the pair. I'm probably about 50/50. I've definitely thought about adding a match for the diamond side, so I could see the appeal of 2 sets.Out of curiosity do you wear the 2 lapis together more than the lapis pave?

I did inquire after receiving the suggestion here from @nightbefore on taking the turquoise earrings and purchasing a single lapis butterfly so I could have the best of both worlds. The response I received was that you can only purchase within the same color combo. So, they would not allow a single lapis butterfly unless the lapis butterfly earrings or ring or something in lapis butterfly was already purchased and vice versa.
After going back and forth quite a bit on this and most likely driving my SA insane, I do believe I am going to pass on the TQ. I am not able to try them on and just think at this price point, I should have zero reservations. I’m going to stick to fulfilling my mile long VCA wishlist. If this were TQ Alhambra, it would have been game changer for me. But something about the TQ in the butterfly just doesn’t have the same wow factor for me as the lapis butterfly.
I will live vicariously through all you ladies who own the TQ butterfly. As gorgeous as the pieces are, just not sure they are for me.
Thanks for all the input and helping me decide!
There are so many shades of turquoise - I wouldn’t have any confidence that buying a singleton after the fact would yield a colour match (and an almost-but-not-quite colour differential would drive me bonkers, personally).I did inquire after receiving the suggestion here from @nightbefore on taking the turquoise earrings and purchasing a single lapis butterfly so I could have the best of both worlds. I’m not sure if you ordered the lapis set, but if not, and you really want it, you may want to order it now before it gets discontinued. Lapis is very very hard to source now, so you may run the risk of not being able to get a set.I did inquire after receiving the suggestion here from @nightbefore on taking the turquoise earrings and purchasing a single lapis butterfly so I could have the best of both worlds.
