@chacci1 I believe somebody mentioned that you can always ask for a single butterfly earring if you already own a pair… since turquoise and lapis both have YG pave as second earring maybe you can ask for a single lapis earring? Then you basically have the both :amuse:

If anyone knows if this can be done I would love to know, though with the sapphire butterflies. Otherwise option is to buy both sets and have 4 options!

I was able to order a single lapis butterfly shortly after purchasing the lapis set in 2019. I was told at the time, that ordering a single earring that matched either side of the pair was possible with HQ approval, so I would assume it would be the same with a sapphire set. I'm just not sure if they allow an order of a third butterfly that is not part of the "original" set.

Thanks - good to know you can order one of same set. Do you recall how the single lapis butterfly was priced compared to set? Not that it matters for decision but curious. I am thinking of getting pink sapphire set and buying single yellow sapphire. Not sure that will be allowed. An enabling friend told me to just get both sets.

You are so right!! I knew I could get lapis when I asked for it a few months ago, but I haven’t inquired about it since. This is actually the first question I’m going to ask tomorrow and then go from there depending on the answer!
What did you decide?
I am with BigA in that I feel tq is a summer colour. I have a blue du nord Kelly and a blue atoll birkin and I can never make those bags work for me in the winter. I would at least think the blue du nord being a white based blue would work with winter whites but not for me. Whereas I can make my pink bags work in the winter. So likely very dependent on your colour wardrobe and how you feel about the colours.
Lapis to me is far more beautiful than tq and more versatile. But it is very much personal preference.

They had set prices depending on which butterfly combo was ordered but they total to match the price of the pair. In this case, the lapis set was $20,300. The price of the single lapis was quoted at $8950 and the single yellow gold/diamond was $11,350. I would imagine that a single sapphire would be slightly less than half of the cost of a total set, since the diamond butterfly would be priced higher.

Thanks! That is very fair pricing!

Out of curiosity do you wear the 2 lapis together more than the lapis pave?

I did inquire after receiving the suggestion here from @nightbefore on taking the turquoise earrings and purchasing a single lapis butterfly so I could have the best of both worlds. The response I received was that you can only purchase within the same color combo. So, they would not allow a single lapis butterfly unless the lapis butterfly earrings or ring or something in lapis butterfly was already purchased and vice versa.

After going back and forth quite a bit on this and most likely driving my SA insane, I do believe I am going to pass on the TQ. I am not able to try them on and just think at this price point, I should have zero reservations. I’m going to stick to fulfilling my mile long VCA wishlist. If this were TQ Alhambra, it would have been game changer for me. But something about the TQ in the butterfly just doesn’t have the same wow factor for me as the lapis butterfly.

I will live vicariously through all you ladies who own the TQ butterfly. As gorgeous as the pieces are, just not sure they are for me.

Thanks for all the input and helping me decide!

I have pink sapphire and have been told I can't get a single lapis and have assumed I'd be told the same about the turquoise. It was my impression that maybe you can buy the singles that "go" with your diamond pave butterflies, that is, I for sure can buy a single pink or WG pave and I am pretty certain I can buy yellow sapphire, but am not sure if the no on lapis was no because lapis is hard to source these days or if it is a no because lapis comes with the YG pave. I didn't dig too deeply into it. I'm not VIP level but my spend does have enough zeroes at the end that I'm sure they'd be reasonably accommodating. Maybe they'd let someone with a higher number in front of the zeroes ;)

We need to arrange a butterfly coop/exchange on here for people who want a single from sets they don't have. I would like to have lapis and turquoise, but am not a fan of YG pave so I will certainly never buy these pairs.

There are so many shades of turquoise - I wouldn’t have any confidence that buying a singleton after the fact would yield a colour match (and an almost-but-not-quite colour differential would drive me bonkers, personally).
I think you’d have better luck matching lapis, if you went that route one day - there are certainly variations of that stone too, but… Less than turquoise!

I’m not sure if you ordered the lapis set, but if not, and you really want it, you may want to order it now before it gets discontinued. Lapis is very very hard to source now, so you may run the risk of not being able to get a set.

Good luck to you

Just playing around :loveeyes: was thinking maybe I won't love her that much....but alas....heading into the boutique for earrings soon. Colours are so much more vibrant irl but I am not good at capturing it :shocked:View attachment 5348420View attachment 5348423View attachment 5348424:facepalm:
Beautiful! I prefer the butterfly by itself. It looks so beautiful on you.
The Alhambra is lovely but distracts from the beauty of the butterfly.
Wear it well and in good health. And YES! to earrings.
