Finally, my two medium size bags: Brera and Triennale. Both have a trapezoid shape, with front side being a bit narrower than the back. Both have wide shoulder strap that can be worn on the shoulder only. Medium Brera has a front flat compartment locked with a clasp and then a main compartment with a flat inner pocket, the top flap is magnetic (note: micro Brera has only one main compartment locked by a clasp and a flat inner pocket). Triennale has only one main compartment, but two inner pockets, one front flat pocket and one back zipped pocked. Capacity wise the bags are similar, can fit a small bottle of water, an umbrella, and IPad and so on, but Triennale has a more sleek look and is narrower at the top, while Brera in comparison is a bit bulky.

I’ve added a comparison shot of mini Iside to medium Brera to show how much larger Brera is. For some reason, I can’t find medium Brera on Valextra website, not sure if they’re starting to phase out this style, but if you’re looking for an alternative to LV Capucines BB, I think medium Brera is a great pick (and much cheaper than LV 😄). Given my medium Brera is in exotic python leather I haven’t worn it as much as my other handbags, but I’m still glad it’s part of my collection.

Finally, comparing all the Valextra leathers:
- Millipunte is scratch-resistant and has a great durability
- Smooth shiny calfskin is nice to the touch and has a very sleek look, but it’s prone to scratches (though with time some smooth out a bit and become not as visible, depends on the light). One day I ended up without umbrella with my Triennale while queuing outside Vatican and despite raining the bag didn’t get any water damage 🙂
- Smooth calfskin of my Flute bag is very delicate and already has some scratches but it doesn’t bother me, as the quality of the leather is amazing and I love how soft to the touch it is
- as mentioned above, given python leather is a bit more delicate, I haven’t worn my Brera much yet, it’s a special piece I’ll be using for certain occasions 🐍

I hope this review helps to anyone looking to add Valextra to their collection, I love the brand and cannot stress enough how amazing the quality of their pieces is! ❤️ I think I reached a purse piece when it comes to my Valextra collection 😅 also if they’ll keep phasing out some of their classic designs, I’ll definitely be an #oldvalextra fan 😄 (still not a fan of their latest Milano bag, a dupe to Birkin 🙈)

I have several Valextra bags, my Iside in smooth calfskin is the oldest, like 3 years of wear I think, I got it in 2021, I bought it already with some tiny scratches on both the leather and the hardware (at least I didn’t have to baby it), the leather ages beautifully despite the scratches, the only thing I’m considering doing is replacing the front panel on the lock (it has some scratches, and I need to check with Valextra’s customer service if they’ll be able to replace it), cause the model I got had just plain metal part, not covered with leather or anything. No corner wear or handle wear on the bag, or any issue with the shoulder strap so far! Another older bag I have for over 2 years is micro Brera in Millepunte leather, maybe given its size it didn’t had any corner wear, given it doesn’t bump into things or anything. These two I’ve used the most for now, the other Valextra bags had way less wear than these two. Still all holding up beautifully… I really think the quality and the craftsmanship is amazing!

Palmellato I don’t think I have seen IRL yet, would love to check it out and compare it to other leathers!
Was interesting and informative to read your review. I do know there are known for great craftsmanship, and I am considering the iside medium bag. I went to vestiare to check how a used bag looks like, and was a bit hesitant when I sometimes see that the front of the bag was bent and curved… hmmm I thought the bad should hold its shape ..

Thank you! I think it really depends on how bags is used and cared. The medium Iside, if overloaded, might be prone to losing its shape, given
leather is structured, but it’s still lightweight. Both of my mini Iside bags look pristine when it comes to their shape, despite me always carrying a heavy power bank. The proportions of the mini make it less likely to lose its shape, even when loaded. I also think, unfortunately, some people might not store their bags properly, cramming them into tight spaces, which can affect their shape.

LuisaViaRoma has a few Valextra styles discounted by 25-30%, depending on the code used, even the new “baguette” inspired design is included in the promotion… so tempting! Thought I’d share if anyone has been thinking about adding Valextra to their collection

Sharing my new medium Brera in what must be Valextra’s “red” or “love red.” I found her for a great price on Yoox, and am pretty sure I’ll keep her even though I wasn’t really in the market for a red bag this size/style. It seems like Valextra must be phasing out the medium Brera (a shame, as the micro wouldn’t be nearly as useful for me), and I thought I should snap her up. I love the trapezoidal shape and textured leather (thanks coffee2go for posting your medium Brera for intel!), and I’ve been really into red in general lately. I find that it functions like a neutral and brightens up a lot of different looks.
