ame: its gorgeous!!! I love it just the way it is. I think if it is set any higher it will lose the beautiful curved prongs and antique look of the ring. its perfect just the way it is.
congratulations on your new setting!

yea that's my worry. I don't wanna ruin the sideview! I didn't put any jewelry on today at all. Mostly bec I wasbanging my hands around packing. So tomorrow I'll break em out!

I see what you mean by lower, but I think you feel that way because your old setting was very high. I think it looks perfect and elegant now. The side profile reminds me of a blooming lotus, very VERY pretty.

Do you have pictures of all your ring settings so far? I'm so intrigued by your ring saga!

So happy it turned out well for you!

not really. They've all looked almost the same really.

I am not loving this lowr head at all. Like I am growing to strongly dislike. I've worn it all day and I'm self onscious of it where I wasn't with my higher ones. I am considering having them make the whole 'w' thing start higher up. My husband thinks it's hideous bec it's so low. He is majorly disappointed and I am really not thrilled with that either. I keep hoping it will grow on us but all day he was grousing. We are both not happy how 'close' the 'swoop' is coming to my diamond band even with a 2mm spacer. It's too close. I think my diamond looks smaller now bec it is so squat.

I know you all love it but I *hate* low settings. I compared to the original image and my directions did say 'HIGH' up so...i might have that remade. I just cannt get my head around that.

ame, it looks good! but if you don't like it, you cannot keep it as it is... Actually, the diamond looks smaller in a lower setting...

But, I am wondering.. didn't you checek the height of the setting? Or, they set it lower than it should be by mistake??????:smile1:

the set it far lower than all the info I had. It's at least 1mm lower than the info we had. That 1mm would make a serious difference. I already told the jeweler I'm not happy with the lowness.

I love em high. I emailed with the jeweler. He and I will put together a list of 'corrections' and ask abt timeline. I would otherwise be ok waiting but I'm nervous my band is gonna hit the ering and damage both. It really can happen and it makes it less comforting to wear right now.

I love the side profile of your ring- I think it's gorgeous.

That said, I love high settings too.....mine is set high & I wouldn't want it lower.

Re-set it Ame. You won't be happy until you do.

Actually taking another look through your pics, in all honesty, your ring is beautiful.

I think if it gets set higher you will lose some of that gorgeous profile.

Think this one through carefully........just sayin' ;)

I prefer a bit higher setting so I have chosen my tiffany classic solitaire, instead of Cartier's or DeBeer's or etc. But ame, your previous setting was really high!!! (like Swanky's!) The gap between your previous one and the current one might be too HUGE to get used to... The new setting is truely gorgeous & beautiful, but unfortunately the design of the shank might be, by nature, for the low-setting lovers...

Lovely!! I really like how it sits low. The diamond on my e-ring from my previous marriage was pretty high and I was constantly bumping it on things. :( It fell off after about 6 months. Although, I have a feeling that was because of shotty workmanship...or maybe an omen. lol

LOL omen! could be! I have had several high settings in a row and that was never a problem for me. lol

I DO love how totally open it is, cleaning is amazingly easy, and I love the way light can flood it. :)

My husband and I are absolutely having the head reworked. He just told me at lunch it actually is making him angry to see it, he thinks it looks like "cheap stock crap" because it's so low. I don't care for how low either and it's not going to work long-haul if I plan to keep my diamond band on, even with a spacer. It can hit the prongs and that's bad news.

The jeweler is going to find out what is involved. But it will get reworked to come off the finger more. The prong tips to the "W" where the culet is is fine, it's the part below the culet that needs to be up more. The photos and details we have say this was not made "to my specs".

I also need it resized a bit. I think it's a big snug, which is an easily rectified thing.

They can also do the nick then at the same time. Id wager a whole new head. hopefully not a whole new ring...
