Can this one be set higher?

If so, then I would consider it. I think a touch higher would allow it to be a bit more distinct.

But otherwise, it's beautiful! Perhaps wear it for awhile and then decide.

Yay! I hope you get used to the height!
Me too!

The entire head would have to be remade for that to occur. So I am going to see how I feel at the end of the week. They will redo it if we want that to occur, though it will not be fast. So I did decide that if that's the case, Ill have that done after the christmas rush so they can spend the time to do it. The side view is amazing, I just think that we both expected it overall to be much higher than it is and we're having to adjust to that.

So we will see. Most people have told me it's perfect. I just have to decide if that's correct.

Without having to go through all of the posts and multiple threads ... what happened, why were you so stressed and are you happy with your ring now?

Short version:
Over the summer I had my ring resized. The jeweler did an atrocious job that compromised the integrity of the ring, aside from obviously rendering it ugly and kind of oblong. I saved money for a new setting which I ordered last month, and it was a designer setting. I was given 7-10 days turnaround, which was great considering I knew I'd be leaving town for the holiday and i'd not only have it back, but have time for tweaks. The designer either got backed up, messed up, or something, and put off my jeweler with dishonest explanations to get us to leave them alone, accused him of micro-managing. After several times being told it had shipped with no delivery, we were wondering if they had lost or damaged my stone and were buying time, we had speculated a lot of drama. I was just tense because my stone is not easily replaceable and if something HAD happened I was going to have serious mental breakdown over a little ROCK, an inanimate object. FINALLY almost a week and a half later I received the ring yesterday, and despite maybe not loving it 100% heightwise, and a few little blemishy things, I ahve it back and all is right on this planet.

Got two more today. The sun did not want to cooperate and the wind was ridiculous and having my ring and the leaves fly off wasn't appealing. So if the wind is ok tomorrow and there is sun Ill do a few more :) Otherwise you'll wait a while ;)

I agree in that you should wear it and see how you feel about the height issue.

Looking through your photos, it's gorgeous. If it's "too high" it may end up looking ridiculous......it's perfect the way it is, but then YOU are the one wearing it!!!!

It is absolutely gorgeous ame - I think the height is great too - its just a personal opinion but I much prefer a lower setting to one that sits high. I'm not sure if you have kids but I know when I'm dressing my baby, the last thing I want to do is scratch him so I'm thankful for the low setting.

WOW AME! I didn't follow your whole saga (somehow I missed it!) but all I can say is that the final ring is GORGEOUS!!! You have good taste! (glad I listened to you on the earrings!!)

Conratulations!!! ame!!
The stone looks different in your previous and present setting.
I prefer the present low setting!!!
I especially love the side view.
Look at the curves of prongs!!! So beautiful and perfect!

ame!! I'm so happy this story has a positive ending!

As you and I have discussed in the past, I really love this setting (my BFF has it) and it really is a stunning twist on the solitaire. I personally like the height, but I like lower settings on almost every style ring. I hope you're able to enjoy it and have a good holiday!
