I recently bought an Hermes scarf from Hardlyeverwornit (HEWI), a mousseline (Les Leopards) listed as "never worn". It arrived with several stains, a couple of runs, and a perfume smell. To HEWI's credit, customer service was responsive and the return was pretty smooth and straightforward. Disappointingly, though, it looks like the scarf is back up on their site with the same listing, again as "never worn".

Jeez Louise! Maybe they meant ‘never worn by seller because seller would never wear this without a deep cleaning’

Hello! Has anyone purchased from Collector Square? I'm interested in a vintage box Kelly that they have, but I'm not sure about the info they gave. It's a bag from the 1970s, and they said because of this, it doesn't have a date stamp - is this true? I've seen other vintage Kelly's from the 70s with date stamps and thus you can clearly tell which year it's from? I'm not too fussed about knowing the exact year, rather I'm unsure if this info is correct or not and also whether the bag is authentic or not!

Also, they said they're not sure about whether the bag has ever had any work done on it, though there is "likely some restoration done on the corners". I'm a bit concerned with this as I read that the H spa does not accept bags that have had work done by a third party. But then isn't this the problem with vintage bags in general given how old they are and how many owners have had them before?

Well, if they are not sure... That means there has been some work done.
I had a bad experience with them with a H bag that had lotion marks, and they pretended to clean it without holding the promise.
Concerning the authenticity, I went several times to the shop to try bags on and trust them.
I am no expert though.

I almost did, many years ago, because they sold my HAC and it had been a fantastic experience.

TL;DR: make sure to check the bag in person

I wanted to buy a unique Plume briefcase from them; it was dark brown and had three stripes in front, yellow-white-yellow like Goyard, and I thought it was pretty. I went there and checked the bag in person (lesson learned: schedule an appointment because they take a long time to take out the item from the warehouse). When I finally held it, I realized they have very good lighting when photographing items because up close, the bag looked much older than the one in pictures. Also it had some sort of musty smell that they didn't disclose in the description, although it could also be because of how they stored the bag and it wasn't there when they received it.

Just curious on everyone’s thoughts on whether this thread is still up to date for Hermes consignment stores in Los Angeles. i.e. is it mainly this place called Decades?

I have some experience with them, at first not great, then had a very good experience. Here's what I would say:

Their "expert" gets things wrong all the time. So, unfortunately, you can't go on their assessment of a bag.

I am not sure I would buy from them without seeing the item in person and also picking up in person - see above; we also have a member here (not me) whose purchased bag was lost in shipment from France to US, and CS was very very difficult in the situation.
I would agree with @allanrvj that it's best to make an appointment to see any specific bag you are interested in.

On "your" bag specifically, there are bags here and there without date stamps, and this is more common in 40s-70s than today and does not necessarily impact authenticity.

It's very very far from up to date, but Decades is still around. They used to be great for rarer H bags.
LA also has branches of all the usual suspects like Rebag and TRR. The TRR on Melrose is actually pretty good for Hermès IMO - they don't know much about the brand, but there are some beautiful things, and you are not dependent on their terrible website and above-mentioned quality issues.
Maxfield on Melrose also has vintage H.

Thank you so so much! I am traveling in this week and mostly have shopping time today, and just realized H itself seems to be closed on Mondays. This is great info thank you!

I've purchased one H bag and a couple of items of jewellery from them. The bag I bought was also a Kelly without a date stamp. No problems on authenticity (I then sent it to H spa) but I agree with others that it's better to see them in person if possible to get a proper idea of condition. The descriptions can be very vague!

is the reseller bubble bursting or are Luxury Promise becoming tacky by auctioning Hermes bags starting from £1. They are not Christie’s to auction bags. Just feel they have access stock they need to get rid of.
I suspect its a gimmick to gain traction on their site.
I dont see prices going down generally.
