I would never advise buying anything from an Instagram seller or a facebook group.
But thats just my opinion.

New on AFF.

Hello all. I have a question. When you are looking to purchase a vintage Hermes shawl what websites have you found to be most useful? Also, have any of you ever sold an Hermes shawl you no longer use? If so, what sellers did you use? Thank you.
I am not sure if anyone ever replied to you. You can check any of the resale sites - eBay, TRR, etc. You have to know what you are looking for as "vintage" term is used rather loosely. Technically, anything 20 year of age or more considered vintage, but some sellers might label a shawl issued five years ago as "vintage", so it depends on the seller's knowledge and expertise. Having said that, there are very few truly vintage shawls on the market (pre-2003 let's say), so I would suggest searching by the design name. Also, as a word of causion - be very careful as far as the condition goes and inspect them thouroughly. Many times pre-owned shawls have various damage (could be moth holes, pulls, stains, flattened edges, mended spot, excessive pilint from being washed, etc) so you have to agree with yourself what would be acceptable to you and what not. I would suggest anything you get in cashmere that is pre-owned, be ready to dry clean right away - before you put anything in your closet:) Common sense, but anyway:)
As far as selling, eBay would probably produce the highest resale value - but you have to be patient and be able to put a good listing with pics, etc. You can try other resellers for quicker sale but lower return obviously. Best of luck.

For the orange lovers. Comes with a coupon code too!

TODAY I HAVE TO SAY FINALLY REAL PAYED MY BUYOUT AFTER CONCERN OF 6 MONTHS ....JUST TO INFORM ..THANKS
I am so sorry to hear of your difficulties with The Real Real. I started selling with them a year ago and have sold 14 bags with them, including Birkins and Kelly bags. They have paid promptly, direct deposit
On the 15th of the month following the sale. I have had a few tiny hiccups such as price disagreement but it’s always been adjusted to my suggestions. I do think they take quite a while (usually 3-4 weeks) to list which is frustrating. I always send detailed descriptions of my bags so they know what the color, leather and other details are. They have sent a representative to my home to collect my bags which I appreciate. I never have used the “buyout” feature, just regular consignment. I used to sell on eBay but after an unpleasant buyer with one of my Chanel bags, I decided it wasn’t worth the trouble.
