Trusted Hermes Reseller Discussion Thread

Did you ever find out if RCBH is a trusted seller? I too am looking at their stuff and the prices appear too good to be true. Also, on their site under returns, it says they accept returns up to 14 days and on their “purchasing” page it says all sales are final. Conflicting info is a bit of a red flag and they have a lot of incredibly rare bags.
Sorry for the delay in responding.....I just trusted my gut and decided to forego buying anything with them no ratings for them online anywhere....so i proceeded & bought from AFF. Need to sleep at night!

I would also check out Prive Porter and Only Authentics. My personal experience is they pay very well for new exotics.
Waiting to hear from Prive Porter. Thanks VERY much for the info. Also trying TRR, AFF & Jane Finds. I can't imagine doing Ebay--who would buy from a first time bag seller?! As info for future referece, Only Authentics only takes Kelly or Birkin exotics (sigh) Also I find that Sotheby's market place process is very slow. Wish me luck!!

Do you have any recommendations for reputable resellers? Apologies if this has been discussed at length already. The ones I was considering was: Prive Porter, Madison Avenue Couture, Saclab, or maybe even Sothebys. Would appreciate your opinion, thanks!
@Izzie07

I prefer not to buy over retail, and I love bargains in heritage leather, so I sometimes look at Japanese resellers. So, I don’t have personal experience with your choices. I do know that there are many posts on TPF re prive porter. If you do a search, you will find them. in the US, many TPFers use fashionphile; Ann’s fabulous finds; and yoogis. Sandia exchange used to be popular as was the former luxury Zurich. Others have had results with Collector Square.

for international purchases, factor in 10% customs and state sales tax.
for auction houses, there is an additional premium of I think 25%, not sure.

for any of the above, I strongly recommend authenticating via photos through @bababebi or other trusted source, PRIOR to purchase. And payment via PayPal backed by Amex. I don’t recommend Facebook or Instagram sellers, or an unknown individual, as wire transfer to a stranger makes me nervous.

ETA: I believe l’ecrin and Ginza xiaoma have reputations for authentic, sought after bags, but always do your own due diligence. ( I do not have experience with either). I personally believe that prices are softening due to recession, maybe not to Covid lows, but there is a lot of merchandise being consigned to places like TRR ( for TRR, caveat emptor, as there may be issues re authenticity, condition, and return policy, but it’s possible to find interesting things).

There is a recommended reseller list

Also a thread discuss resellers
And the search button

Also eBay search and authenticate via bababebi prior to purchase
Do you have bababebi authenticate prior to purchase or after?

Hello there -

I am looking at items on Ebay from a shop called Poupishop:

I did search PurseForum, and found a number of favorable posts, but mostly for scarves.

The items I am looking at are belt buckles, as I bought a belt kit at the Belvue store, then ordered a second belt online for different colors...I should have ordered a second kit, because I also wanted a permabrass buckle, but did not realize that buckles are not sold online individually.

Did/does Hermes sell individual buckles in different countries? Does this Ebay Poupishop look legit?

Any input appreciated...thank you!

All I can say is, do NOT sell on TheRealReal. I am in the midst of a horrendous experience with them. It is literally the worst, most irritating customer service experience of my life. I am trying to sell a virtually new Evie TPM in Rouge de Coeur because I just couldn't get comfortable with the color. Long story short, I dropped the bag off (along with some Jimmy Choo boots) at one of their stores in April. It never appeared on my account and was "in process" for months. They essentially lost the bag. It has taken me weeks of unbelieveably frustrating "communication" with their "customer service" "people" (basically me sending emails and getting what seem like AI generated responses in return). Everything is always "we are looking into it and it will be another 7-10 business days." They recently claimed they have located the bag (THREE months later) and it will be "another 7-10 business days" for them to authenicate and post the the bag. It hasn't appeared in any way shape or form on my account so I have my doubts that it has magically appeared. I'm ready to pull my hair out. DO NOT CONSIGN HIGH VALUE ITEMS LIKE HERMES BAGS ON THEREALREAL!!!
I AM AGREE WITH YOU ,REAL HAS A CUSTOMER SERVICE VRY BAD , THEY ARE VRY INCORRECTS ,I HAVE A CONCERN FROM SEPTEMBER THEY DAMAGE MY BIRKIN HERMES AND DECIDE TO BUYOUT ,NOW IN MARCH I DIDN'T RECEIVED MONEY SO I ASKED TO RETURN MY BAG..THEY ARE DISHONESTS...

Worldwide no Hermes boutiques will sell a buckle without a strap EXCEPT for the expensive (& quite beautiful) sterling silver Touareg buckles. These alone can be bought on a stand alone basis from the H-store.

With respect to the Poupishop, I have bought Hermes scarfs & an H- Minerale pendant from them with great service & no problems. One tip (which I learned from a tpfer on this forum) - if you purchase the item directly from their own website (NOT the eBay store - do a search...) you will find the same item for a lower price as you will not be paying the eBay buyer's premium (~18% I think). Also, often their own website has a code to get free shipping if you're based in Europe.
