Hi all - Sorry if this has been asked / answered before! When buying a bag from a reseller, some would say that only a copy receipt is available rather than the original receipt. What is the reason that the reseller won’t share the original receipt with the buyer?

Is it because it’s a fake?

Is it that they are afraid that Hermes will find out?

Or any other reasons?
As someone who has resold bags, I never give the receipt because it contains personal information.

I only give a receipt copy for several reasons:

1) I want to retain the original receipt for proof of authenticity and of boutique purchase if a question ever comes up in the line of ownership.
2) The receipt contains personal information about me and my account.
3) There are likely other purchases on the receipt, and I want to retain the receipt for my insurance on those.
4) I do not want one of my receipts falling into strange hands and possibly being used in a scam later down the line. Once someone else has the receipt, especially someone I don't know, they could use it to "prove" authenticity on a fake
