To be honest all this sounds so shady. Do you really want to take this risk? Why not forget IG sellers and buy from a reputable reseller?Has anyone used the ig reseller hermes_originalbag? I just want to see reviews good and bad to see if they are a reputable seller and can be trusted bc they only do WU and bank transfer. I'm a little suspicious that they used to do Paypal, but stopped including paypal as a payment method in September but they claim that they don't use it now because Russia can't use PP because of Ukraine, which is true but doesn't explain why they stopped including it in their posts in Sept. They also price stuff 20-25% above hermes retail for quota bags which is kinda weird, when asked why they said "and what price should there be?, we usually earn no more than 20-25% of the transaction, thanks to this we have a lot of sales"
Has anyone also used capngrab.com or theleatheriva.com?
What're some of your reputable IG resellers you have bought from, trust, or seen good reviews for?
This all day. The number of almost-purchasers who say something like "they seem shady, but.." and then continue to ask opinion defies all logic. Folks, fraud is real, losing money forever is real. Why not forget IG sellers and buy from a reputable reseller?

Hi there, I had a similar experience with a reseller two years ago and if I remember correctly, I was quoted 150 or 250 EUR (in Europe) for a replacement clochette and keys. I can relate to your frustration regarding the overpricing and the neglect of adjusting it due to the missing parts. In the end, only you can decide, what you deem a fair price and how important the full set is for you.
That said however, as stated by other lovely members, clochette, lock and keys can be replaced, while a bigger damage to the bag itself is there to stay unless you spend big time (in my case it was a cut in the inside lining). If the bag itself was in good to excellent condition, I would try to evaluate as rational as possible whether I consider the price as fair for what I got.
With regard to bringing in the bag into the store with resale tags on it - I have done so twice (again being in Europe, things may be slightly different here), and I see no shame in telling them you found a color/leather you love and that is currently not in production. I was going to send the bags off to spa anyway and obviously they were not bought in my store, so if questions would have arisen regarding their origin, they would have latest at that point. I went in with my bag asking the SA (mind you, they have leather experts, but no craftsperson) whether they see anything that is beyond repair and whether we are only talking about touchups or actual repair work. The first time, they told me, the box bag just needed some TLC and color touchups (and the bag turned out great), in the second case they advised me to return it as some damage could either not be touched at all (inside lining) or would just be camouflaged but not repaired. Once they do ship it of to the atelier though, the tags are cut off.
As for the spa pricing: I do not understand the reaction of your boutique. Yes, in order to give a full pricing estimate, the artisan must see the bag. However they should be able to quote some standard pricing. A replacement clochette in leather x has a set price and a replacement is a replacement, no need to "evaluate". With regard to my "questionable" purchase, I had contacted FSH aftersales via e-mail (I had a business card of someone I was lucky to have spoken to regarding a semi-defective CdC from the sale), and they quoted a price for the new keys and clochette. I would try again (or maybe call a different boutique that has an inhouse artisan) asking for a price quote mentioning the specific leather of your bag, knowing that this is still an estimate subject to pricing increases while your bag is being serviced.
Whatever you decide, think about it thoroughly to avoid any regrets later, good luck!
Bonhams have regular designer bag sales. In London (and I suspect in the international sales too), everything is first authenticated by their in-house experienced team, and then an independent authenticator.
Bonhams also allow you to contact them with your wishlist, as they sometimes have people ready to sell immediately rather than waiting a few months to the next auction. I think Christies offer similar.
I wouldn't use a reseller who is based solely on IG.
I also like BrandCoParis, and they have a very good buyback scheme too - they promise you 70-75% of what you paid back, if you decide to re-sell the bag at a later date.
Don't be led tooooo much by how large or small the markup is against RRP, even on brand new bags. I've seen fakes astronomically priced, and authentic bags dramatically low (often depends on how desperate someone is to sell).
I hope we can continue to add more and more suggestions to this thread, so that we can spread awareness of sites that we can buy Hermes that aren't risky because IG resellers are probably the most commonly known people to buy from but not always the safest because most don't offer buyer protection.
when I looked up the address of capngrab on google maps is was a mall without shop number/buidling address, and Leatheriva was a cafe in San Fran Chinatown... which definitely makes me think it's a bit sketchy.
