Hi Everyone. I just want to share my recent unpleasant experience with Fashionphile so you are aware of this problem when you are considering about buying from them.

I recently purchased my second birkin 30 from Fashionphile and on their web page, it shows this at the "comes with" section:

However, when I received it, it came with the bag and dust bag only, no clochette and lock. I was expecting the keys to be missing, but not clochette and lock.

I reached out to Fashionphile right away and they said item was listed with a dust bag, lock, and clochette. The client services specialist asked me to double check in my package but no luck. Few days after their investigation I was told that their Procurement team has confirmed that it was a data error, this item does not come with a lock, keys, or clochette. She tried to get away with it by saying you did not see them showing in the pictures therefore you should not be expecting them. I replied and said the "comes with" section was there for a reason to let you know anything that you cannot see from pictures, or, there's no reason for that section to be there if you can see everything from pictures provided. Second, the picture did not include the dust bag either, should I not expect that too? It does not sound reasonable to let your customer guess what item will align properly with your description and what will not.

Obviously I loved the bag, that's why I decided to purchase it. But without the clochette and lock, it decreases the value of this bag. I did not get this bag with a super cheap price or deep discount to be able to tell this item comes with a bag only. Matter of fact, my previous birkin 30 that I purchased from them was one year newer, came with everything but the box and priced slightly lower. It was a neutral color too, just in clemence leather not togo. But they said they are only willing to do a full refund for me if I return my bag to them, no discount if I decide to keep it. The bag is gorgeous, I do really like it. I just don't know if it's worth the price I paid since it had clochette, lock and keys all missing.

Here's an example of what the "comes with" section should say when it does not come with all three:

So sorry this happened to you. Fashionphile is definitely having serious problems with listings and handling of consignments in general. I am a longtime consignor (VIP tier several years running) and have bought a few items without problems until late last year. They completely mishandled a listing for a bag and when I got it back they had packaged it very badly and also not removed the strap for shipping (could have been a disaster). Also I sent some Prada and Gucci footwear that my consignment manager approved. The intake team rejected them (for "wear," although they were in better shape than similar items that were listed at the time). I put them away intending to donate or Ebay and just yesterday brought them out. The intake people REMOVED the Gucci plaques on the soles and broke the Prada ones in half. I can only guess they are removing those (or trying) from rejected items in order to place on fakes.

Very disappointed and am definitely shopping/consigning elsewhere now.

Omg that's horrible! The first Birkin bag I got from them had the clochette hanging on the bag the entire time and there was a dent on the bottom from it, I did not find out until I removed it along with the Fashionphile tag(the dent was not visible in their pictures with the clochette covering it), I could not believe that they stored the bag this way the entire time rather than only hang it on the bag for pictures. I have heard of someone with an experience similar to yours with TRR, TRR took her new bag for consignments but it did not sell fast enough so she decided to get it back. It was a new bag but when she got it back it did not look new anymore and protective plastic stickers were removed, she said it looked like too many people tried it on. She was sad that no place will take it as a new bag anymore. I do know that a lot of people carry their bags with plastic sticker on for a few years and sell it to Fashionphile stating it's new (especially for Hermes bags in Epsom leather), a girl my friend knows recently sold a Birkin from 2 years ago and even though it looked like new, she was being honest with Fashionphile and said it was used with plastic stickers on. Fashionphile paid her a used price and listed it as new on their site later! Can you believe it? There are other accessories such as Hermes rodeos that they list as new/giftable but obviously used since their tails hang down. They just choose to be blind when trying to make more money but pay you a very cheap price to buy your items.

Oh gosh I realize I had a brain hiccup when replying to your first FP post - my recent bad bag and shoe experiences were with TRR, not Fashionphile (and it's too late to edit my post).

Recently, as in the past, I have had a really good experience selling with Fashionphile (there is a showroom in NYC so buyouts are a snap). Their people are nice and competent and their pricing for my 2 recent H bags were right in line with what I would have expected at VIP commission level at TRR, minus all of the stress, delays, and potential damage to my bags.

I will say that FP is likely having the same issues as everyone with staffing, but their listing photography is head and shoulders above TRR (which doesn't even show the insides of the bags or stamps). It sounds like the description mistake was possibly a copy/paste error. In my experience if something isn't shown in the photos but mentioned in the description (or vice versa) it definitely warrants questioning.

But I do think their return policy is among the best and easiest (where as with TRR one may have to jump through hoops b/c they say almost all bags are "no returns").

Good luck tracking down another, better, incarnation of your dream B!

I just want to give you an update. I just got off the phone with my local store and they said they cannot give me an estimate over the phone, I will have to bring it in. However, I don't think they want to see a bag with the Fashionphile tag on to know that I bought it from a reseller. If I remove this tag, then I can't return it back to Fashionphile later if the price is too high or if they cannot offer replacements in the color and leather I want. I guess my best option here is just to let go of the bag back to Fashionphile. : (
Hi there, I had a similar experience with a reseller two years ago and if I remember correctly, I was quoted 150 or 250 EUR (in Europe) for a replacement clochette and keys. I can relate to your frustration regarding the overpricing and the neglect of adjusting it due to the missing parts. In the end, only you can decide, what you deem a fair price and how important the full set is for you.

That said however, as stated by other lovely members, clochette, lock and keys can be replaced, while a bigger damage to the bag itself is there to stay unless you spend big time (in my case it was a cut in the inside lining). If the bag itself was in good to excellent condition, I would try to evaluate as rational as possible whether I consider the price as fair for what I got.

With regard to bringing in the bag into the store with resale tags on it - I have done so twice (again being in Europe, things may be slightly different here), and I see no shame in telling them you found a color/leather you love and that is currently not in production. I was going to send the bags off to spa anyway and obviously they were not bought in my store, so if questions would have arisen regarding their origin, they would have latest at that point. I went in with my bag asking the SA (mind you, they have leather experts, but no craftsperson) whether they see anything that is beyond repair and whether we are only talking about touchups or actual repair work. The first time, they told me, the box bag just needed some TLC and color touchups (and the bag turned out great), in the second case they advised me to return it as some damage could either not be touched at all (inside lining) or would just be camouflaged but not repaired. Once they do ship it of to the atelier though, the tags are cut off.

As for the spa pricing: I do not understand the reaction of your boutique. Yes, in order to give a full pricing estimate, the artisan must see the bag. However they should be able to quote some standard pricing. A replacement clochette in leather x has a set price and a replacement is a replacement, no need to "evaluate". With regard to my "questionable" purchase, I had contacted FSH aftersales via e-mail (I had a business card of someone I was lucky to have spoken to regarding a semi-defective CdC from the sale), and they quoted a price for the new keys and clochette. I would try again (or maybe call a different boutique that has an inhouse artisan) asking for a price quote mentioning the specific leather of your bag, knowing that this is still an estimate subject to pricing increases while your bag is being serviced.

Whatever you decide, think about it thoroughly to avoid any regrets later, good luck!

Friends, I am an idiot, and I need advice.

In Warsaw this week, I bought the Selle Imaginaire with the white background. I like it. I don't love it. But then at the airport in Zurich, I saw the Brides de Gala in that luscious yellow/orange, and I have to have it. I can't really buy two scarves right now, so the Selle Imaginaire has to go. It still has the tags on it, I've never worn it. Where's the best place to sell it?

Can you exchange the Seller Imaginaire for the Brides de Gala? If it is only a week old and unworn, you should be able to take it back to the store for store credit. At least that's how it works in the US, not sure about Europe.

I have been wondering about the best place to resell scarves also. I have some I just haven't used and it seems pointless to keep them even if I will sell for less than retail. I just have no idea where to consign them and I don't want to manage listings on my own.

For all of your Hermes needs, I suggest @luxuryinreach on instagram. They are located in Baltimore but ships anywhere in the US. They also carry Chanel, YSL, LV and Gucci. Beautiful customer service and a great variety.

These guys are affiliated with Radcliffe Jewelers outside of Baltimore. I've worked with Radcliffe on some pre-owned Cartier before and have several friends who are clients. Can't vouch for their authentication process on bags though.

Welcome to the Purse Forum. I will say this is an interesting first post. Can I assume you are affiliated with luxuryinreach? All three of your posts are promoting their business.

Hi everyone, as I mentioned a few posts up I recently purchased a Halzan 25 from FASHIONPHILE, which was listed as New condition. The bag overall does look new, but I’ve noticed some mild fraying on some of the stitches especially the strap. The fraying is very very mild so you won’t be able to see unless you inspect up close under sunlight (I couldn’t even take a clear photo to show), but since I’m a newbie and this is my first H but pre-owned (though listed as brand new condition), I wonder if this is normal? It’s like some of the threads don’t have much wax on them? Or is FASHIONPHILE not being accurate or honest about their listing? I just don’t know what a “new” condition Hermes bag is supposed to look like regarding the threads…

Please get the bag authenticated. I have lots of H bags that I use often and none of them have fraying threads after years of regular use. Please get the bag authenticated.
