So this account @MissMayRibak is selling Birkin's and Kelly's on Instagram. From what I can tell most look real but some could be sketch from what I have seen and people I have shown them to say. I showed one to my SA and she said its definitely fake.

She seems to be a big reseller as she posts photos with a lot of the bags she is selling and posts a lot of videos of buying bags. How is she able to buy so many??? Does anyone know anything about her and if she is legit? I am tempted to see how much she wants for some of them but I am worried she is selling fakes along with real bags.

Thanks

For my taste, their Instagram has too many fake followers, and (this is not meant to be a reflection on the country) there are a lot of Russian sellers of fakes, so I tend to tread carefully with Russian resellers.
Thank you! How did you know that the seller is Russian? She says she is in UK/EU.
She actually sent me pictures and videos of the bag I wanted, together with Hermes store receipt and CC receipt. The payment method is via bank transfer which kind of scares me since I can’t tell if she is a verified seller.

For all of you reseller experts, can you please answer some questions I have. I have not bought anything from a reseller, boutique only, and I doubt I ever will because I’m too much of a chicken, but I’m fascinated and would like to educate myself a bit.

So, there is a gorgeous Bleu De Prusse Box B35 Guilloche HW on Fashionphile that has no year listed, but looks almost new (to me, you’re probably more practiced at looking at this) and plastic on the HW. It’s listed at $14,500, which seems really low. I would expect it to be higher for the special-ness and the HW. Or am I mistaken? Does this price set off your alarm bells? And why would Fashionphile not list the year?

I agree with the comments made by others who have responded. The demand recently has been on smaller sizes so B35 prices reflect and I’ve found that if you search and wait you’ll be able to find some good deals on Fashionphile. What I do as well is favorite a few bags and keep an eye out for how long they’ve been sitting on the site. The length of time they sit there usually equates to demand for that particular model, size, color and leather. I’ve seen a B35 in swift sit there for half a year already and the longer it sits, the more likely there will be some sale on it. I feel like Fashionphile does a relatively good job of describing an item’s condition. I was hesitant at first but I’ve purchased a few things including a B35 and K32 that are almost new and were listed as very good but I looked at the pictures over and over again until I finally pulled the trigger. Best thing is they offer free returns as long as it’s not under the reserve program so if you want to look at it in person, doesn’t hurt to get it and then return if you don’t like it.

Their Taplink is in Russian.
I wouldn't pay anyone by bank transfer, ever, let alone an unknown Instagram seller.
ETA: Does she say UK or EU? That sounds super vague. And again....using a Russian Taplink.

There's no ambiguity on this: Never hand over money to an unvetted random individual, especially a sizable sum, when there's literally no recourse. She could send a fake, a box of rocks, or nothing whatsoever.

Thanks so much. This is really helpful advice.

Hi I recently got scammed when I tried to buy a birkin from Carousell HK. The bag comes with original receipt so I thought I was safe, only know 2 weeks later when my friend pointed out that it’s a fake (brought to some secondhand bag stores they said the same). Wondering if Hermes can do do authentication or something? I tried to call police but they told me to report to Customs, while when I contacted Customs seems the procedure is lengthy. The seller insisted its authentic and said that i replaced the bag; and said its up to me to sue her but lawyer is expensive. Seems this is a real professional scammer. Any way I could recover my money back? Thanks ladies

I just had a very bad experience with Vestiaire Collective. I have sold 2 items and payments were scheduled on 25 Dec and 1 Jan, however I didn’t receive any payment from them and I contacted their cs, they keep asking me to wait and it has now been more than a week without any respond. I have checked with my back and they confirmed didn’t receive any transfer from VC. I have sent my items long ago and am now here without any solutions.

Hi, I found a very well priced Lindy sold by Vestiaire Collective themselves on their website. However, the description includes "Comes from store display, private sales. Unreadable letter code." I am not sure what to think about this... I do not plan on reselling it after (however one may never know) but how to interpret unreadable letter code? Do you think this alone justify the low price? I am worried that it is a very well counterfeit too.

That is upsetting to say the least. I hope it was due to the Holidays and that you will have a reply soon. Do you have the confirmation that the buyer got the item?
