Hi there! new here and to the H collecting (several sporadic purchases from H over the years but just recently decided to make it a hobby)

I am chasing this Jimetou Jumping Case which is sold out in Ocre/Acier in the US (the H store on Madison verified for me today). I found this listing on eBay which seems authentic, but I also worry that since it's canvas it's easy to fake (like all the Dior book totes). But then again, it's not an 'in demand' item like the bags/belts/shoes so why would someone go thru the trouble? The seller has some odd listings, like spelling 'Christian Dior' as 'Christine Dior'.

Does this seem legit to folks with Accessories expertise? or is it worth waiting to see if H gets more stock as spring/summer approaches since it's more in season then...?

TIA:flowers:

I actually purchased a Jige clutch from brand jfa this past summer that turned out to be fake. They initially refused the return but after providing photo proof I was able to successfully return for a refund through a PayPal case.
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing this! What a disappointment and a hassle! I’m so glad you got refunded

Given the whopping 16 feedback as a seller I would tread carefully....there are many eBay scams besides fakes. Maybe call customer service to see if this case is in stock anywhere? In my experience H is happy to help hunt down such things.

Replying with the seller ID brand_jfa in case someone is searching for reviews of this seller. I have always trusted them, so this is very helpful info :flowers:

Thanks - to be honest I had never seen a jige in epsom before so the irregularities didn't initially jump out at me and I foolishly didn't inspect the bag closely before sending it off to F-phile (they were the ones who flagged it). Of course as soon as I got it back and did my own due diligence the flaws in the material, stamping/placement, logo, etc became obvious, and brand_jfa could not provide any satisfactory info about the origin of the bag (they claimed it was authentic and purchased from a "contractor auction"). I'm sure some or even many of their bags are authentic but either their authentication process is inconsistent or they are purposely passing along good fakes along with real bags. I will add that Paypal was very responsive and closed the case in my favor ahead of schedule, as soon as the tracking info showed the bag was returned.

Sharing some additional and internet-safe photos (thanks mods for fixing my prior post!) of my purchase from brand_jfa. Their bag is the top one in the comparison photos.

For all of you reseller experts, can you please answer some questions I have. I have not bought anything from a reseller, boutique only, and I doubt I ever will because I’m too much of a chicken, but I’m fascinated and would like to educate myself a bit.

So, there is a gorgeous Bleu De Prusse Box B35 Guilloche HW on Fashionphile that has no year listed, but looks almost new (to me, you’re probably more practiced at looking at this) and plastic on the HW. It’s listed at $14,500, which seems really low. I would expect it to be higher for the special-ness and the HW. Or am I mistaken? Does this price set off your alarm bells? And why would Fashionphile not list the year?
It’s an unpopular size in an unpopular leather with dimpling and other age marks clearly visible. It may be “rare” in that there are few guilloche birkins on the market but rare doesn’t necessarily equate to popular or in demand. And you may feel 14.5k is low but it’s still likely close to double the retail of this bag when it was originally purchased. As for year, they show a pic of the stamp so if one can make out the code, one could determine the year. My personal opinion is that the bag is still overpriced (somewhat supported by the fact that it has yet to sell) and will probably sell for much closer to 10k, if FP ever decides to discount it.

All of what @acrowcounted said. On my screen it *looks like* an A in a square, which would be 1997. That would make it a 24 year old bag. If that is the age of the bag, it makes me wonder if it is genuinely BDP or an older/box version of Bleu Saphir. It could also be an R in a square, which is 2014, however they were not still making Guilloche hardware for bags in 2014.

ETA: not definitive, see below

Nearly every guilloche Birkin I’m seeing on the resale market is 2013 or 2014 so they were clearly still being produced. I believe the bag on FP is 2014.

Gosh girl, you have eagle eyes! Interesting. So do they never do guilloche anymore?

I knew you would.
Then that is the answer. It's 2014.
Editing my prior post, although I will say that I personally have not seen Guilloche produced on a bag for many years, certainly well prior to 2014, resellers or not.
