They had a Femme aux Semelles *mousseline* and it sold fairly quickly. They had it marketed as a men’s scarf :shucks:

It is back!! I guess whoever bought it the first time figured it out. Per usual with TRR, it is back up with the original text and pic. They make so many outrageous representations about their authentication process and this type of thing happens. So irritating!

That is upsetting to say the least. I hope it was due to the Holidays and that you will have a reply soon. Do you have the confirmation that the buyer got the item?

The items were sent to VC for authentication, once they accept the items payments will be made, I received confirmations from them that items are accepted. It has been almost 2 weeks so VC must have sent the items out already.

So update on this May Ribak girl selling bags on Instagram, have shown the photos of the bags she is selling to multiple people including some SA's and other experts. Most of the bags she is selling look like well made but obvious Turkish fakes. A couple of the bags she is selling appear to be real but difficult to say. Definitely steer clear. So sad to see people trying to take advantage of people looking to buy bags.

You can see them on her profile here: https://www.instagram.com/missmayribak/

Oh gosh, that's horrible. I think lots of IG sellers are doing that. Just curious - how do you know they are Turkish fakes?

I’ve actually emailed them when they put up a fake scarf but they just reply about their amazing authentication process. How hard is it for their awesome experts to google a design and research if it was ever produced in the “questionable” format.

I’m shaking my head right now at the price on this……..
$3100 :wtf:

She seems like a Kardashian Wannabe.
She has a LOT of followers!
I guess a great many people must aspire to that kind of 'look'
I would advise against anyone trusting a seller using instagram as a selling platform no matter how glamorous or luxe the sellers life appears to be.

Hi everyone, I hope to seek for your inputs ..

I am searching for my first Kelly 35 noir epsom, ideally phw.

I wonder if I buy a 2011 or earlier bag, will it look "tired" or should I look for a newer one, ie within the last 2-3 years?
As a background, I will only look for one with minor scratches on hardware, which I believe can be replaced by Hermes, and minor scuffing only on the edges ..
And this will be my only Hermes, I am assuming, as I am quite practical - wear 1 bag daily for years kind of person. So I want to avoid a tired looking bag.

Thanks in advance

Personally, I would not buy an epsom kelly that large (retourne or sellier?). I don't think they wear well.

I think it depends a lot on your personal style and what limits you have on wear and tear/ what you’ll accept. Have a look to see if you can find posts and reviews on Epsom leather in particular and how it wears over time. Then you can get a better idea about your decision. Epsom is a more rigid which is meant to hold its shape when stored properly. Harder leathers can scuff a lot on the corners too depending how the person took care of it. 10 years or more is a long time for wear to accumulate. I think H started making epsom in the mid 2000s. 2004 maybe? Lots of experts in this forum will know I’m sure. Older leather might be dry (so more prone to cracking) depending on the climate in the country that you’re buying from. If you buy the more structured Kelly Sellier you probably want it to be kept in good shape and look in good condition. If you like the softer look of Kelly Retourne then it is more likely to have lost its original shape. Some people appreciate a worn in and loved bag and others want their bag to always look pristine. Both are gorgeous but it’s harder (or more expensive) to find excellent condition with older bags. I think the Hermès spa only do the work that they see as appropriate to do on the bag. So I’d also look into that to confirm if you are set on replacing hardware. Also the Hermès spa is very strict on authenticity and will destroy any fake bags they receive. Make sure you have a reputable preloved seller and authentication and receipt etc. Have a good look around before purchasing so you can be confident in what you’re getting, especially if you’re buying online and can’t see it in person first. Good luck!

Hello all, does anyone have experience with the reseller Luxury_tale on IG? I'm interested in buying a Kelly cut from her. Kindly advise. Thank you
I haven’t seen them before but I just looked at their profile. Is the IDR currency Indonesian Rupiah? If so, their prices listed are suspiciously low. I can’t see many likes or comments on their posts either except a couple to say sold or spam posts. Considering the number of followers they have that low engagement looks suspicious too. Do they have a physical store anywhere? I’d be cautious unless someone else can vouch for them.

Spend some months researching the market.* You have to get your own 'feel' for what is available.
Assuming you are likely to buy on like make sure you have a good computer monitor (don't rely on a phone or tablet - put the image on a good television). Look at every detail with care; if you see a mark or blemish, ask about it. A reputable seller will understand. Don't be tempted to use wire transfer - especially if it is the perfect bag that you don't want to miss.

*Researching the market.
Asking for advice and opinions is only the first step. You must do your own research.
Look at as many bag as you can, even in colours and leathers that don't interest you.
You might change your mind.
This will give you a good idea of what is generally available and what the going rate might be.
You will be surprised just how many older bags there are in tip top condition,
because most owners value them and care for them.
Look at the Clubhouse threads on here and you will see just how many gorgeous older bags tpf members have acquired.
If you are inexperienced I would be cautious of Instagram sellers and outlets.
Even be prepared to get independent authentication of items from well-know outlets.
